It was caused by a glue pot in a carpentry shop that fell over onto wood chips and turpentine which started a fire, then when the guy that started the fire poured water on it, it got worse. some people think that one person died but the records were lost so we can't be sure. The floating part of the bridge sank in 1979 when there were high winds. they repaired it and it reopened in 1982. I chose this for my map because for one I like Walla Walla onions which come from there so I'm thankful they got that money so they could stuff those onions up my throat "haha:)".
