         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is the Grand Coulee Dam which is thought to be one of the hugest dams in the world. It is the largest one in the entire Columbia River basin. I chose this because it's one of the most interesting dams in my opinion and it's in eastern Washington so it covers that too.</div>]]></description>

They handle about 10 billion pounds of milk every year and they have around 17 hundred employees. I chose this for my map because it is one of the biggest dairy farms in the world and it has some cool and interesting facts.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is twin brook creamery, a 5th generation dairy farm which has been operating since 1910. They used to produce feed and livestock also. They bottle their cream top milk which they are known for. I chose this for my map because it seems cool and it's interesting how when you zoom out it looks like its outside the border of Washington.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is the Bainbridge passenger steamer, one of the first boats used to transport people around this area. It was built in 1908. The Bainbridge was one of the first boats purchased by the Kasch Navigation Company, owned by William Kasch. The company provided mail service and passenger transport between the San Juan Islands, Anacortes and Bellingham. I chose this for my map because we live on bainbridge and it's sort of cool that there was a boat that owned the same name as our island.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is the great Seattle fire, which forced Seattle to be rebuilt above all the rubble. It was caused by a glue pot in a carpentry shop that fell over onto wood chips and turpentine which started a fire, then when the guy that started the fire poured water on it, it got worse. some people think that one person died but the records were lost so we can't be sure. I chose this for my map because it is the most destructive fire Seattle has ever had, so I think it´s an interesting place to put on my map.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is the hood canal bridge, which is the world's longest bridge of its type, with a floating section consisting of 23 concrete pontoons stretching a distance of 6,520 feet, with the total span of the bridge reaching 7,869 feet. The floating part of the bridge sank in 1979 when there were high winds. they repaired it and it reopened in 1982. I chose  this for my map because I have gone over this bridge sometimes and it's an important bridge because without it people couldn't go to some places without a boat.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is the Nisqually earthquake of 2001, which had a magnitude of 6.8 and 400 people were hurt. the damage went as far north as Victoria British Columbia. there was about 2 billion dollars of damage in Washington. I chose this for my map because this earthquake injured the most amount of people in Washington and it was the most expensive earthquake to repair from so I think its an interesting place to put on my map.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Gold was found near Walla Walla around 1855-1860, which made people in Walla Walla prosper and they made a lot of money. Shopkeepers charged more for things because of all the people coming to look for more gold. I chose this for my map because for one I like Walla Walla onions which come from there so I'm thankful they got that money so they could stuff those onions up my throat "haha:)". I think gold rushes are cool because who doesn't like a little bit of exploration.</div>]]></description>
