         <description><![CDATA[<p>When I was in my 20s, my friends all wore platformed shoes. I thought these shoes looked ridiculous—like something someone in the circus would wear. Everyone told me to buy some of these shoes, so I did. The first time I wore them, I almost broke my ankle. I lived in San Francisco. While walking down Market Street, I fell, and my ankle started swelling immediately. So, for the next month, I was on crutches. Being in these shoes did not make me feel part of my circle. Just the opposite. All I felt was pain and embarrassment.</p>]]></description>
