Double Life

I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. However, my roots are placed in Norway. Nearly 2 weeks after I was born, I was on my first flight back to what I truly would call home, Ulsteinvik, Norway. However, my parents built new lives in the U.S, so traveling back and forth became a very regular concept.

Sports

I grew up playing any sport you put infront of me, from golf, tennis, gymnastics, dance, soccer, and more. Being an only child, sports taught me how to cooperate with other kids and learn more about how everyone is raised differently. I always wanted to help everyone, when I saw they were struggling.

Friends

I grew up with my best friend Annika, however as she got older she experienced many health issues. Almost loosing a friend is one of the hardest experiences I have been through, and still go through. This is what sparked my interest to help others and being in the health care field.

Future Goals

Growing up, I always wanted to shadow family members in the Hospital, to really know if this was a dream I wanted to pursue. I loved watching nurses and doctors save lives, and ever since then my dream has remained to be a nurse.

Covid

Going into High school, Covid began. Being so isolated and depressed, I was brought down a really deep hole and started slacking heavily. I became very lazy and all my goals started disappearing. The high school I was in, also was a very toxic environment and my teachers and counselors did not care about my future.

Transferring schools

After Covid had calmed down, my parents decided it was time for me to switch schools to a healthier environment. Although I was the new girl junior year, this school was the best thing that could've happened to me. I reconnected with my best friends from childhood, and they showed me what real friends are for. I got back on track with my goals, and started preparing for college.

Despite all the times I wanted to give up, I graduated high school and was set on track to start pre-nursing school at High Point University. I knew an out of state school would be best for me, because I wanted to leave my old life in the past and start over.

Ultimately, I'd like to thank my parents for everything they did for me. I would not be where I am or who I am without them. They helped me through my biggest losses, and pushed me to be the best version of myself. I would not care so much to help others, if I did not see the way they cared for me.
