         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello everyone! Let me wish you a warm welcome to this course -- IMK 221 (Food Ingredients). <br><br>I've been teaching in USM for 24 years now. I graduated with Bachelor of Applied Science (Food Tech) in 1986 from USM, worked for 2 years at Klang Town Council and then pursued Masters in Food Process Engineering and Ph.D. (Food Tech) at University of Reading, UK. <br><br>You may find that my approach in teaching the course is different and perhaps unconventional. Yes, I view my role as a facilitator, not as someone who you would expect to pour facts and knowledge in your head. My role goes beyond transmitting knowledge. My role is to nurture you to become lifelong learners, to teach you the skill of 'learn how to learn'. <br><br>What you will learn during your time at USM is merely the tip of the iceberg. There is a vast amount of untapped knowledge that you need to explore, just like the base of the iceberg that is unseen because it lies below the surface.<br><br>HAPPY LEARNING</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello everyone, I am Man Yee. You all can call me Man Yee but neither Money nor Mandi. <br>I am a food tech Year 2 student who is coming from Puchong, Selangor. If you wonder where is Puchong, it is situated in between Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur. A lovely place where my parents stay. <br>My parents' hometown is Sekinchan which is a more interesting place where you can find paddy fields, beach and nice seafood. <br>I was graduated from SMK Batu Lapan Puchong as a STPM student. <br>My first year in food technology has opened up my mind towards some information about food science and food technology that I have never exposed to before this. <br>I hope at the end of this degree course, I can master the tip of ice berg and utilize the knowledge to get more information. <br>Be like a sponge to absord the sea f knowledge XD</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi everyone, I am Yin Cheng. Most of my Chinese friends will call me " Yan Qing" instead of Yin Cheng. Many of them ask me why my Chinese name and English name has a such a big difference. It's because I'm a Cantonese. "Yan Qing" in Cantonese is pronounced as " Yin Cheng". <br>I am a Food tech third year student.   Time flies very fast, I had been in USM for the past two year and I am getting older. I come from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan which is a small city. Sometimes, when I say I come from Seremban. They will asked me whether Seremban is in Selangor. Actually, Seremban and Selangor are different places. It can't be deny that Seremban is a not famous city that everybody will know like KL and Penang. But I love this place where I grown up. For me, big city is too crowded and competitive to me. <br>I had finished my 1 and a half year of STPM at St. Paul Institution Seremban. I'm proud to be a STPM student. Studied in Form six is a very precious memory and experience for me.<br>During the two years time in Food technology. I really learned a lot of knowledge about the foods we eat, how is their processing. From what I have learned, I can tell my family what foods is good for health, what is their ingredients and how they have been processed. I will use my rest of the life to explore more about the world of food. <br>Besides that, I also had taken management as my minor course. Through this course, I learnt how is the food quality will affect the profit or loss of a company. The cost of the product is all depends on what ingredients you are using. Whether profit or both the food product and profit is important for a company. <br>Thanks for reading my introduction.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi everyone, I'm Sindu and i come from Kl. I am a polytechnic diploma leaver , POLISAS the only government polytechnic which offers diploma in food technology for now. When i was pursuing my studies there i did my practical in MARDI under the food technology division and obtained new experiece as they channeled me to the toxicology division where i assisted my facilitator@researcher who was carrying out a research on a cure for cancer based on traditional malay practices which consisted a combination of dried belalai gajah leaves, stevia leaves and roselle leaves which was made into tea bags in various quantites and given to the analysis rats which was injected with cancer cells the tea was then given in various concentrations for several week depending on the analysis whether it was acute toxicology analysis..it was really interesting as i learnt all about it only during my practical..it was interesting..though it was sad and pity the cute rats as we take care of it until it comes to the time we have to disect it..i learn that this field is really interesting and has a wide scope..i manage to advise my sister who wants to open her own bakery based on my knowldge such as the preservatives to use, how to obtain the halal and haccp cert..i  also share with my family my knowledge on the advantages and disadvantages on consuming certain food..in my short experience of working for a small chocolate factory as a QC after graduating my diploma i have learnt that the quality of the food is very essential in the market..i really hope that this degree will be a steping stone for me to deepen my knowledge on food and be a successful food technologist in the future 😊</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi everyone, I am Ri Ying, a second year food tech student. <br> <br>I come from the Pearl of Orient, Penang where delicious food is found here. Laksa, cendol, char keow teow and etc. You name it, we have it! <br> <br>I am STPM graduate of SMJK Chung Ling in Penang.<br> <br>After studying food tech for one year, I am able to explain some terms or ingredients such as types of cooking oil and gums to my family and friends. This is a kind of accomplishment as I am able to utilise the knowledge that I have. But, I will keep on challenging my limits in exploring knowledge and transmit the knowledge to others.<br> <br>Somehow, I have a trivial dream in which I want to develop a food product that will genetically grow straight hair. This was inspired from my own curly hair, there are plenty of ways to straighten the hair but definitely not by consuming food product.  I hope this dream will be achieved one day..<br> </div>]]></description>

I know some of you like to call me CRAZY, but that's not my name. HAHAA. I'm doing my second year now and getting older that is so called SENIOR.<br><br>I come from Kuala Lumpur  which is a damn super duper hyper busy city. However, I'm still happy to stay with my family and all of my relatives !<br><br>I was studying in Matriculation college Kelantan and was the first batch student studying there. I always missed the food there, for example nasi kerabu, budu and kuih akok. Ohh goshh, I'm getting hungry at this moment !<br><br>About my life, there's one word to describe -- PERSISTENCE. I never choose to give up for what i want and never stop planning for my future. I aim to study food technology and now i have been succeed. I wish to learn Japanese from young and finally i have got to register it this sem. It's very very and really really excited now. <br><br>Lastly, that's HAPPINESS.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi there. I'm Yuzanis A/p Bah Samuel and you can call me Anis or Yuzanis would be fine because name is not that long also. I come from a state just beside Penang which is, Perak. Perak is the place where I was born but I grew up in Kedah since kindergarden and still I cannot speak like Kedah people. I don't really know why but I just can't &gt;&lt; and now staying in Taiping. Just one hour drive to USM hehee&nbsp;<br><br>I'm from a very ordinary family with six siblings. I'm the third child from the six of us. A king and a queen with three princes and another three princesses. When people see us, they will say that our face is like 'copy and paste' from each other because we're look alike somehow.<br><br>Schools. I have been to 4 schools during my primary and secondary. I'm very use to be the only Orang Asli Semai in my class because I lived outside my 'kampung' so, most Orang Asli don't really stay at town that time and until now, I'm still the only Orang Asli in the class. Sometimes people think that I am Indian, Chinese, Malay even Sarawakians. So, you know now lahh no need to guess anymore hahaa^^<br><br>Food technology is fun and I don't even&nbsp; know there are a lot of things that FOOD has. Its a great discovery I would say and I love to learn more of it. Long journey guys!&nbsp;<br><br>My dream is to be what God want me to be. </div>]]></description>

I am also the only girl in my family of 6. I'm an ambivert and also a book lover.<br>I went to SMK Aminuddin Baki and then to Selangor matriculation.&nbsp;<br>My whole life i have been in love with making food. Feeding people and seeing their satisfied faces with the food that i made is probably one of my favourite thing to do. My hometown is Penang which is also known as the 'food heaven' . <br><br>I studied in SMK Dato' Onn Butterworth, passed my SPM with flying colours and got the opportunity to further my studies in Perak Matriculation College(KMPk). </div><div><br>KMPk was the place where i learnt a lot of things to adapt myself in a campus surrounded by palm oil plantation, with less facilities and expectations as compared to a city life.<br><br>After one year of matriculation life, I stepped into my journey of pursuing Degree in Food Technology  in USM.<br><br>Food Tech course wasn't my first choice . However, after studying food tech for one year, I  would say that  I really enjoyed my first year and I will enjoy  this course as I get to learn and discover the hidden truth about the 'world of food' instead just knowing how to prepare and eat FOOD :<br><br>My degree life in USM is going well so far, except for the thing that I have to face variety of insects with various colours in my room . &gt;_&lt;</div><div><br>I hope I could cope up well with my studies in this course and in my future career as well .<br><br>Well, the best is yet to come .<strong> 'The Future Depends on What We Do in The Present' </strong>.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hola! I'm Malvina Melanie Chieng Kuan Fung, that's why my nick name is Mel.✌✌ A 21 years old girl, born in  studying 2nd year of food technology course. I was born in the land of hornbill - Sarawak and my hometown, Limbang is located in the middle of an islamic country - Brunei Darussalem. (Do visit me when you're free😁😁)<br><br>I studied in SMK Kubong Limbang, place where happy and sad moments were created. Something sad to say, I didnt pass my STPM with flying colours. Initially, I didnt get any offers from any universities but thanks God, Lucikly I got the offer for Food Technology course after my appeal. <br><br>I'm a mysterious and cool person, more like a sushi - cool appearance with a 'warm-cooked' personalities. I'm a food and colour lover😍😍So I cant resist any food or drinks that have a bright light colour!!!<br><br>Studying food tech isn't easy. There are more than things about food. However, I really enjoy my Uni Life with my crazy coursemates😊😊 What I hope is to make full use of my four years to 'absorb' all the knowledges from lecturers and of course seniors, with the main goal to be GRADUATED🙌🙌<br><br>Happy Learning evryone!!!          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi everyone! I am Tan Siok Yee, a third year food tech student. I'm from Kahang, Johor which is a small village far from the bustle of modern life. I spent my secondary life in SMK Kahang. After I finished my SPM, I furthered my study in High School Kluang to STPM level. Currently, I'm taking food technology as my first degree in USM.<br><br>It is my pleasure that both UPM and USM offer me a place on food technology course which is my first choice but I decided to accept the offer from USM as it is my dream university since before. Besides, Penang is one of my favourite state as it is a food paradise. As a food lover, it makes me more interested in food technology course. Although I choose this course as I thought that it is related to chemistry and biology only but I realized that I needed to learn more than that throughout this course. Sometimes, it makes me stress! But, the knowledge gained is very useful even in my daily life and I appreciate it. <br><br>I found that university life is full of challenge and it is not as simple as I expected. Although I had experienced hostel life during my form six life but it is still not easy for me to adapt to the life here at first. I think it is because of the hot weather here. Furthermore, study far away from my hometown sometimes will make me feel homesick as I cannot back home frequently. Fortunately, I have friends who will give me moral support and help me when I faced difficulties.<br><br>As a future food technologist, I will have great responsibilities in ensuring that the food products are produced safely, legally and are of the quality claimed to be consumed by consumer. A single mistake in processing line can have a massive impact on food produced. Perhaps I can learn more from Prof to be applied in my future career. I feel lucky to meet Prof and enjoy the learning process in the class given by Prof as there are a lot of interaction with the students. It is fun and interesting!  I will try my best to learn more new things in my uni life. That's all for me. Thank you^^<br><br></div>]]></description>

I came from Terengganu and i am proud.  I have 5 siblings and i am the second. <br>The truth is that i want to be an actor. Unfortunately, my parents insisted on having a better future. So taking this course will probably be a safe journey for me.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi! My name is Yap Ker Sin. I'm form Shah Alam, Selangor. I’ve accomplished both PMR and SPM in SMK (P) Bukit Kuda. On the other hand, I’ve completed my STPM in SMK Methodist (ACS). Currently, I'm a Food Technology student in USM and I’m very grateful to get offered by this course. Food Technology was my first choice because I think that working with food is always a fun and interesting thing to do. Most importantly, I believe good food will cheer people up.<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;Time flies and now is my 5th semester here in USM. I've learned a lot about food in this course. I realized that food is not as simple as most of us thought which is just for eat. In fact, food deal with a lot of chemistry and it give better taste, texture and other properties to the food. Besides that, food technologist is also an important role in the industry. Once a wrong decision was made by food technologist, millions of lives may be gone just because the food approved by them can cause serious illness in people who consume it. Anyhow, I will still enjoy the time as a food tech student in USM. After all, university is a place for us to learn and allow us to make mistakes. So, I will take this opportunity to learn how to become a good food technologist.<br><br></div><div>My biggest dream is to travel across the world. I wanted to see the world outside of Malaysia and wanted to know more about the cultures of people at other country, especially their food! Backpacking is one of the options to accomplish this dream. However, I always feel that I lack of courage to do that because I’ve been staying in my comfort zone for too long. I hope I can step out of my comfort zone someday.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Besides that, I hope I can give my parents a better life after I graduated. They are a workaholic and they never travel to overseas before. Actually, they are just trying to make our life better by earning more money so that we no need to worry about the financial issue. I am always grateful for what my parents had done but I still hope they can enjoy life more. Someday, I will definitely bring both of them to travel and the first location is Hong Kong because my dad always wanted to go there. Currently, I am now a third year student for the Food Technology course. <br> </div><div>Food technology course is my second choice applied. I love chemistry and food-related field. Therefore, I put chemistry as the first choice and followed by Food Technology course for USM application. I received offers from UPM and USM. I decided to study at USM as it is my dream university when I was in my secondary school. <br> </div><div>At first, I thought this course would be something related to cooking and food. However, I found out that food is not a simple thing as expected. The range that we can learn about it is very wide. We learn many aspects of food and this brings lots of benefits and knowledge to us through the courses offered. Through those courses, I able to gain my experience by going through visiting factory or farm. It is a great and fun learning process. It is fun as well where we have the chance to make our own product in experiment. Through this kind of learning, we can understand more about what we learn in lecture. I enjoyed in learning about it.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi everyone. I am Soon Ming. I'm come from Simpang Ampat, Penang. Simpang Ampat is a small town which is located in Seberang Perai Selatan and it's near to the Penang Second Bridge. I did my PMR, SPM and STPM in SMK Simpang Empat. Currently, I'm third year student for Food Technology course in USM.<br><br>After taking this course, I'm realised that food is not simple as I expected before. For example, there is many rules and regulation needed to follow to ensure that the particular food meets these requirements. However, I gain a lot of knowledge throughout these two years especially the food processing. We have chances to make food product  such as burger, fish ball, ice cream and so on. It's so interesting that we can eat our hand-made product. it's a great experiences indeed. <br><br>Since we are going to have our internship in next semester,  I wish I can apply what we have learn during these two years in my internship.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi all! My name is Liew Sin Neen but people usually call me Mona. I'm from Ipoh, Perak but now staying in Johor Bahru since 1995. I done my PMR, STPM, and STPM in SMK Dato’ Penggawa Timur, Masai. While I was taking my STPM, I had already decided to take food technology course as first choice in my degree. At that time, I applied the food technology course in USM &amp;UPM and luckily I got the enrolment from both the universities. Although UPM is nearer to my hometown compare to USM and the food technology course offered there is more well-known, I still chose USM as my university due to reasons. Since my house is far away from Pulau Pinang, it makes me can’t go back home as frequent as I want to. However, I never regret for my choice and really enjoy doing my first degree here :)  <br><br></div><div>It is undeniably true to say that I had benefited a lot in leaps and bounds throughout my degree life. There are so many things to learn from this course and I'm really having fun by involving in every activity related to this course. However, outsiders always think that I’m a future chef instead of food technologist. This makes me have to explain thousands and millions of times regarding my course. By taking this course, I realised that food is really important in our life as we are what we eat. Whatever processes involved or ingredients added inside the food will significantly affect the properties of food. Apart from studies, I also make a lot of good friends here so I think I’m really lucky by taking food technology course in USM.<br><br></div><div>Now I am a third year student and it is my pleasure to have Prof Karim again as my lecture in IMK 221. When I was taking IMK 209 in last semester, I really enjoyed it as the subject was fun and interesting.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi everyone! My name is Ang Wen Xin and I'm from Georgetown, Penang, which is not far away from USM. I spent my secondary and form six life at SMJK Chung Hwa Confucian which is located at Greenlane. Currently, like everyone, I'm doing my degree at USM in Food Technology.<br><br>Food technology was my first choice in the course I chose for USM and I'm glad that I was chosen for this course as some of my friends weren't as lucky as I am. Before coming to the university, I was interested in learning arts or involving in being a pastry chef. However, my parents adviced me to go to the uni and I struggled in choosing which course that are suitable for me. Then I saw that USM are providing a food tech course, which make me interested in learning about it.<br><br>After being here for two years (Wow time flies!), I realised that the food industry is wide and there is so much to know about! Food is not just about preparing it and eat it, but we also have to know about their physical, chemical and biological properties. Like how ingredients interact with each other.&nbsp;<br><br>Currently, I'm also taking a part time job as a barista in a cafe nearby my house. So I learnt a lot of things from the uni and also the cafe. I get to relate things I learn to my work, especially in coffee. So I'm very lucky and glad that I'm studying food technology. I'm very lucky as well to meet Prof Karim in this semester because he don't only teaches us, he inspires us to learn more and to devote more. Hope to learn more in this course!&nbsp;<br><br>Although studying is important, I hope that everyone can enjoy life as well. I always believe that success is more than being well in academic. I'm 20 and I'm the youngest out of 5. I studied in Convent school for about 11 years (primary and secondary) and then in Kedah Matriculation College.<br><br>Now, I'm in my 2nd year study in Food Tech. I also take Islamic Studies as minor. Actually, I really inspired with Prof's quote which is 'A smooth sea will never make a skilled sailor.' That is how i see Uni Life. To be a successful person, there is no short cut. We have to experience the hardship on our own. And that experience will make us more stronger in handling things in the future.<br><br>Also, I'm a positive and cheerful person. I hope to learn a lot of skills and knowledge in my Uni Life and make my parent proud with all my achievement. I graduated as STPM student at SMJK Seg Hwa and now I am a student in USM. Time flies as currently I am already a third year Food Technology student.<br><br>At first I choose Food Tech as my first choice because I though it was all about chemistry and only related to it since I love chemistry very much, but now I realised that it was related to biology, microbiology, chemistry, math as well as physics.<br><br>However, I still love it and feel fortunate to study Food Tech because it is important in our daily life. We have to consume food everyday, it can be 3-4 times per day, the content of the foods we consume can direct affect our health. If we consume healthy food, we can become healthy and having more energy but if we consume poisonous food, we can become sick and weak.<br>&nbsp;So,&nbsp; I want to learn more from this course as I want to guide my family to having a healthier lifestyle.<br><br>Last semester I took IMK 209 Physical Properties of Food which is taught by Prof Karim, it is fun and i love the style of Prof taught us.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello everyone, I'm Siew Ling from Bukit Mertajam, Penang. I had completed my STPM in SMJK Jit Sin from Penang. Currently, I'm studying Food Technology course as a third year student in USM.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>The main reason I want to pursue my studies in this course is that it involves a study of variety of subjects such as chemistry, biology, microbiology, mathematics, physics and etc. Most importantly, the study of FOOD! After taking this course, I realised that this course is really interesting and fun compared to the course that I want to pursue before, which is Chemistry. I really enjoyed throughout the courses especially the lab involving the processing of plant-based and animal-based food products and also visiting the farms by our own.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>My hobby is watching drama and listening to the music. Besides, I like to learn foreign languages especially Korean languages because I wish to watch and understand their drama without subtitles, HAHA and I did it! :)&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>To be frank, I'm kind of introvert and I'm not a very optimistic person. Some people will think that I'm hard to befriend with. But still, I feel very grateful to have friends and great senior beside me during my ups and downs these past two years. I'm from Indonesia, we are a country neighborhood. Bali is my hometown (if you know where is it). I'm an exchange student here, and my home university is Bogor Agricultural University, or we called it IPB (Institut Pertanian Bogor). But, after being a part of Food Science and Technology Department in my college, learnt about it, I was fell in love. Yeah, every year there were some of my senior that went to USM, and they said it really such a beautiful campus with a good study, good lecturers, gracious friends. Besides, I’m animal lover and love furry animal&nbsp; especially cats.<br><br></div><div>Before this, I studied in Kepala Batas Science Secondary School&nbsp; and it have been 5 years I live in hostel and stay apart from my family. After that, I further my study in Kelantan Matriculation College. Although it was far away from my hometown but I really enjoy during my studies there. As it give such a new environment for myself and it also teached me to be more independent than I do. Alhamdulillah, I pass it with flying colours &nbsp; in order for me to apply for university courses.<br><br></div><div>For the first time,I thought that food tech is an easy courses that I can handle. After 1 year learning , yeah im totally wrong .There are so many things I should learn and even I have to study <strong><em>physics</em></strong> again. You all know that physics ,is all about understanding formulas. Maybe there are a few of you that can understand well in physics but not me &gt;.&lt;.Therefore ,i love reading subject very much and it makes me enjoy to read more and it urged me think of something that reasonable .Entering your class for the first time makes me feel something fresh and I hope that I can gain more knowledge about food ingredients and having fun learning this subject. New semester begins and no matter what I have to perform well and makes my parents proud of me to repay for their sacrifice towards me.<br><br></div><div>Although my ambition is not about this course, but I will try to love it as much as I can, so that there’s a way to success.I believe that food tech is my destiny. I am studying four years course of food technology as my first degree in USM.<br><br>I have looked forward to study in USM when i am in pre-university. I have never thought that i can get into USM. Before that, I only got offer from UMS which offer me forestry course. I feel very confusing and sad when i get the offer in UMS. However, I still appreciate the chance to go UMS for studying even though I am not interesting in forestry anymore. When the 8th day in UMS, I suddenly received a message from USM and be informed that I got the enrolment into USM to study Bachelor of Food Technology. It was such a surprising and good news for me!!!&nbsp;<br><br>After coming to USM, I enjoyed all the fun and life in USM. I felt food technology is an interesting course that we can learn more about the food and how the food functions throughout our life. I will try my max to enjoy my uni life and learn something new that I have never try it before in our daily life.</div>]]></description>

This course was my second choice, but I really hope USM offering me this course instead of my first choice. For me, in learning something, we need to have passions, but passions alone is not enough. Hard work will help in learning. This is what i wanted myself to be. I love watching Unique Sweets, so from there i become interested in having those kind of shop here in Malaysia but with more affordable price. I want everybody to enjoy my ice cream.          <description><![CDATA[<div>At 1.33 pm, March 13th 1996, my mother gave birth to a cute, beautiful, gorgeous daughter which is ME. Lol. I was born and raised in a small town at the northern region of Perak called Bagan Serai. Previously I studied in UiTM Puncak Alam for my foundation. That was the first time for me to stay far away from my family. <br><br>I have 4 siblings and I'm the youngest daughter in the family. 2 years ago, a day before we celebrated Aidiladha, my sis-in-law gave birth to a cute baby boy, named Anaqi Ziqri. Years has been passed, now I have a love-hate relationship with my nephew. He hated me as I always steal his fried chicken, his toys and also his chocolates. I really am a good example of an awesome aunty.<br><br>In Sept 2015, I entered USM to persue my study in Food Technology programme. The main reason I choose to study food tech is because I love to eat and I love food. (Sorry future boyfriend, cause I might love food more than I love you). I hope in the future I will be a great halal auditor so that I can ensure the consumers could get a better choices of halal food in the market.<br><br>P/s: Prof, in 2013, I  also won "Best Actress Award" during the english drama competition.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Greetings folks! My name is Norrazatin Haida bt Rozman. I have so many nicknames but currently I love people calling me Haida. Sounds more feminine ha? haha. A proud Kedahan, the rice bowl of Malaysia, even Sungai Petani does not has that much of paddy fields tho. I am a warm person since born i guess, i just kinda hi everyone around me cause spreading the positive vibes is a dominos affect. It is fun.&nbsp;<br><br>Lets revealed the untold story, not to brag, but getting an excellent results since 5 years old till I left the school had made me a girl with a massive dream. A dream to further my study outside Malaysia, so I went to JPA' s interview as a platform for me to catch my sole dream and I succeed. I did my A-Levels at INTEC Shah Alam for two years. I passed all the JPA's cut off points throughout the three semesters and my spirits grew bigger than ever that i could hold the passport, flight tix, kissing my parents, relatives at KLIA and fly off to my dream university, Melbourne University, majoring in pharmaceutical science.&nbsp;<br><br>Dream left me speechless since I didn't passed the last semester with only one more point to get the tix to fly. We appealed so many times to JPA but they wont listen us. The most pethetics part was they said we dont count our blessing, we dont put much efforts, we played all day long. This kinda pissed me off as we burnt the midnight oil everyday cause we know that we are carrying our mom's and dad's hope, how could they said that to us? My heart aches every single day especially when thinking bout my parents. At this point, it has really teached me the concept of rezeki itself. When Allah said this is not your right time, than its not. We planned, but He also planned and His plan is better than ours.&nbsp;<br><br>All praise to Allah, USM accept me in using my A-levels certs majoring in food tech still under JPA's sponsorship. It wasn't my first choice actually cause food thingy dont really wow me. And indeed they did not. Haha. Sorry prof. no offensed. This is my genuine feeling towards food tech cause i think i didn't really move on with what had happen to me last time. But deep down my heart, i really hope i would somehow find myself fit in, in food sectors.&nbsp;<br><br>Thats all i guess, sorry it was quite long but i felt relieve to share with you and my fellow friends. Hope you enjoy reading it and yeah one more thing, you actually look a little bit like my father, that mustache tho haha so i hope it wont scare you if I kinda stop and stare you for a while. My family consists of my father, mother, brother and I.To those who know me, they know that I'm a 'manga' freak. 'Manga' is not a mango by the way, it is a japanese comic. I could spend whole day just reading 'manga'. This shows how obsessed I am with it. My alma mater is St George Girls' School where i studied since Form 1 till Form 6. Food Technology is my first choice when applying to enter USM. This is because I'm interested in food and I think by having a degree in this course I have a higher chance of landing myself a job in the food sectors. <br><br>After accepting the offer and enter USM, I did not expect that this course comprise not only Biology and Chemistry but also Physics. I was slightly devastated as Physics and Mathematics are my non-favourite subjects. I dislike things that involve calculations and logic. Plus, this semester we have Unit operation and Physics! OMG!! How am i going to go through this semester. But nonetheless, I enjoyed my stay in USM as I have met a lot of great friends and probably I might meet my future boyfriend here. Currently a third year student majoring in Food Technology. I had finished my primary and secondary education in Kota Tinggi, Johor. I felt really happy and grateful when I was being informed that I have been enrolled into USM.<br><br>After two years of university life, I guess I have becoming more and more mature. It is not as what I've been anticipated - carefree. As a university student, we need to develop various skills in order to prepare us to the outside social as well as working world, not only just about studying. And the busy university life has made me to have lesser time to accompany my family. I love the hustle and bustle of the Penang city, but I love my parents' hug the most. Luckily my house is not too far from Penang. Whenever I have some free time over the weekend, I will be disappeared from hostel. Guess what, I am going back home.<br><br>I still remember the Physical Properties class with Prof. Karim. It was not the usual boring lecture class. We have had games, brainstorming and watching videos. Sometimes we are not only talking about foods, but some other non-food examples. It had made me understand better about a concept and relate it to not only food, but also some other real life situations. My life has becoming even more fascinating when I apply all the concepts in real life. I guess that's the interesting part of learning and living.<br><br>Anyway, I am truly looking forward to the Food Ingredients class with Prof. Karim. Toodles!</div>]]></description>

It takes almost 9 hours to reach here.I never think of i will study at here before i was enrolled by USM. Although sometimes i will miss home, i never regret to study at USM as it is really a place that can make me grow up and be independence.<br><br>I done my PMR , SPM and STPM at the same school.And i met with my best friends at there.Apart from this, i also met with many responsible teachers at there.I feel very grateful.Before i study form 6, i wish to be a biotechnologist . I make decision to change it after i get to know more information about food technology when i was studied form 6.I know this course won't be easy for me but i persist as i feel this course is very interesting.And it is getting tougher, once feel depressed and afraid i can't make it. But luckily i never think of give up.<br><br>And now, as a food technology student, i try to be a smart consumer by looking information on food products . At least now i can recognize some ingredients like lecithin.Now i am still trying and i hope after 3 years i can be a REAL wise consumer.<br><br>On the whole, i wish all of us can enjoy our uni life and make this as a beautiful memory in the future.</div>]]></description>

A 20 years old girl and currently studying Food Technology course as a second year in USM. I live with my big happy family in Balik Pulau, Penang (a heaven place for durian lovers!).<br><br>About my studies, I graduated from Selangor Matriculation College in Banting. There's nothing special about me actually, I'm just Diana, not Princess Diana 😂 I tend to daydream a lot whenever I get a chance 😁 and I enjoy reading and watching dystopian books  and movies. <br><br>About the course, to be honest I didn't know studying food tech is so.... complicated. But I will keep on trying since this course is my first choice applied as the famous Harry Potter author JK Rowling said, it is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. And I couldn't agree more with her! <br><br>Since I'm the eldest, I'm working very hard to be a role model for my younger siblings. My family and all of my relatives expect a lot from me and honestly it's hard to live up to their expectations. It is too long?? 😅haha.. Ok I'll start my introduction as simple as I can 😁👌🏻.<br><br>I was born in kedah and had 5 siblings with happy parents. My hobby is watching Korean drama as many girls out there crazy it too. My parents always said that watching can damage your brain cells. Is it true? ..but I watch over it again and again.. What a stubborn child 😌. My parents tends to encourage whatever I do since I'm in primary. I'm very glad and happy for having them in part of my life. Since I'm 13 years old, my parents sent me to boarding schools . I had so much fun in there with the super-crazy friends. I still remember when I skipped a few classes and "prep", climbing gate to rescue from students disciplinary board and much more fun stories that I'm not gonna tell. Hihi..😉..Only memories remain  in my mind. After I graduated from there, I went to Johor Matriculation Collage where my life start going busy. Time management is important in matriculation life. In sem 1, my  cgpa quite low because I can't manage my time very well. Then, I take a revenge to my cgpa in sem 2 and alhamdulillah it goes well. Then after graduated in JMC, I had choose food tech as my major course in USM and I get it. I'm very happy to know that.😊. <br><br>Time flew very fast as now I'm a 2nd year student of food tech. I hope I will enjoy this subject and course with my lecturers and friends. Somes are very hyperact ! 😅. I also hope that  I can manage to graduate with beautiful colors and contribute my parts to our school, university and malaysia 🇲🇾. I'm very sorry if my vocab, language is wrong. So u guys know that Gadis Jolobu song, right? ok if you dont, go google them!!&nbsp;<br><br>Well, as you know that i came from a quite far place from USM, I was an ex matriculation, studied in Kedah Matriculation College. Being far from home since 18 years old was quite challenging although it was fun to get to know others' places, accents and food, i am still my mummy's girl. Being the only child in the family makes me afraid that i might not able to bear the responsibilities to strive hard in studies and be far from my parents.&nbsp;<br><br>Back then, i had Ikhwan with me. He was being borrowed for some times, and maybe 13 years was enough for him to guide me as the elder one, teach me to perform my prayers, to respect other's privacy, to appreciate the elders and what not. He inspired me a lot and i will not forget him as a good brother and a true friend.&nbsp;<br><br>I dream to touch the fluffy clouds, weird huh? :D Meaning that i want to be as high up as i can as long as my parents are happy with me beside them.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi everyone :) I am Bong Zi Ting and currently a food technology third year student. I am from Kuching, Sarawak. I did my PMR, SPM and STPM both in Kuching. <br><br>I got the offer from USM and UPM with different course but at last I choose USM because I am just so interested in food. In fact, another reason I choose USM is because Penang is the paradise of food and I dream of trying as much Penang food as I can while I study here. <br><br>I found that food technology is not what I have pictured before  entering this course. I learned more than I expected and also realized that food industry is an industry full of potential. I look forward to make a career out of what I have learned.<br><br>Study far from home for the first times is pretty tough for me. Being the only east Malaysia student in my batch made me feel lonely and sad sometimes. Especially during short holidays where all my coursemate get to go back to their hometown. Luckily I met a bunch of nice friends that willing to help and support me all the times. <br><br>I am excited to be in Prof Karim class again since my lass class with him was such a great experiences. I studied one year programme in Malacca Matriculation College and I was excited to pursue in vet during my degree. But I made mistake when fill in the UPU so I’ve got an offer to study forensic.<br><br></div><div>Honestly, studying in USM is my parents’ choice. They wanted me to study Food technology because of the job scope in the future plus Johor has a lot of food companies. I have also referred about this course to some counsellors and experienced relatives and they said better to take this course than forensic. I was really in dilemma that time. Half of my heart says I’m willing to study anything as if it is the best for me and half of it says I’m not mentally ready to be away from my family. I asked my mother ‘Isn’t it too far, in Penang?’ All that she said was ‘This is sacrification’. <br><br></div><div>Because I want to study with a blessing from my parents, so I chose this course and convinced myself I’ll be interested in this course anytime soon. So I registered in USM and met a lot of amazing and supportive friends and lecturers. I was really excited to study deeper about this course because of these people (thank you, I love you all) and started to realize this course is actually giving me many useful informations especially for my daily consumptions. <br><br></div><div>I am now in my second year degree wishing myself and all my friends will never give up and always strive together and excel in this course. May we graduate as first class degree and make our parents are the luckiest parents in this world.<br><br>Oh ya, I did watched some of Prof Karim's videos on youtube last sem.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Bello! I'm Chuah Sin Yian. You can call me sinyian, a second year food technology undergraduate. I am from Sungkai, Perak. Nothing special in my hometown. If really have to introduce one place, I will recommend Hot Spring for you all. Haha<br><br>I had my STPM in SMJK Sam Tet, Ipoh. My life in Form 6 is quite tough. I transferred to Ipoh after 1 month studying at Tapah. I need to catch up the notes and lectures that I have missed. But fortunately, my classmates are all the way kind to borrow me their notes.<br><br>Honestly, I prefer to become a nutritionist rather than a food technologist. But, in fact I choose this course because of the campus for nutrition is in Kelantan. And I dont think I have enough courage to pursue my studying at there as I have heard that the facility and the transport are still in developing condition.<br><br>However, I din regret on my choice that I made. Regret brings nothing to me. My life still need to move on. And I believe that there's another path waiting for me. I was born and live beautifully in Taiping Perak with my lovely family~<br>After finish my high school (SMK Dr Burhanuddin ) , I was continue my study (Diploma in food technology) in Polytechnic Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah and graduated with the best moments in my life (Same like Sindu) 😘I was giving the best student's award🏅from polytechnic and my food technology department on 2016.(You can search it in sinar harian and utusan paper) hehe 😆<br>&nbsp;I am never regret to study in this institute as many people looking down about it because I gained a lot of experiences especially in practical seasons. It makes me an independent person through of it. There are a lot of memories that I can't forget for about 3 years in it. The best memories that I can't forget is I success in making a new product development (called Jackskin fries) 🍟🍟🍟 for the product launching. I won and getting the place in national competition with all innovation that have been located in University Technical Melaka(Utem). I was excited to see all innovation from all courses. Many people enjoyed to eat my products. They said delicious. hehe. Besides, I also learned how to manage a laboratory work as we had many lab season. So tired but fun ~ I learned about slaugthering a chicken(not a cow hehe). Then I did my practical in Kwong Bee Chun factory that my supervisor is also graduated from USM. I was lucky to practices under her because she teach me a lot of analysis. This factory produce food products such as soysauce,tempeh,caramel(thick soysauce),taucu and sauce as well. So for those friend who wants to practical in this factory can pm me haha. I assist as quality control as well in this factory. Whenever I felt stress during my practical in factory but I love it so much. Example analysis that I did was checking a pH, Temperature, protein, carbohydrate, producing a soysauce from raw material until finish products. I learned to communicate well with the top and below people. Hard to say but im really enjoy it! I also learned on making a new formulation on oyster sauce. For a day i'm cooking almost ten samples. All we need is patient in order to success the formulation.😊haha. During my final year project , I was assisted my beloved lecturer Dr. Azizah bt Mahmood (phd) who was carrying out on research on phytochemical screening analysis for sample that called 'Syzygium Zeylanicum' leaves. The malay names called Gelam Tikus. Maybe Prof ever heard it. hehe. After finish my diploma, I was offered to presented the project in Japan if I&nbsp; continue work under Dr. Azizah but I didn't get a chance because I want to continue in degree. Now, degree education is a bit tough than diploma but I will&nbsp; look and find more experiences in this beautiful course ^^. For me, getting a practical knowledge is really important as we can manage works very well. I will try my best in study ❤So let's success together and enjoy this course.&nbsp;<br>Aja-aja fighting friends!! 아자아자 파이팅!!!♡<br>I hope I can be like Prof Karim. I studied in SMK Valdor during secondary school and SMK Tun Shed Barakbah DURING FORM 6. For me along the way is not easy.<br>Actually, i have a poor health. I am always sick and made my relatives and friends worried about me. It was because i have done 2 surgery during 3 or 4 years old and me also has hereditary asthma. I had to see doctors several times in one week until secondary school. At that time, my parents did not allow me to eat snacks and cold drinks and also intense exercise. I was very envy the others children. But now, i already can enjoy them without controlling,hahahaha......I m very thanks to my parents that always caring me and also worrying me and rushing to hospital and clinic for many years because of me. Really sorry and thanks. I ll keep try to maintain my health. <br>I had offered food technology from USM and biotechnology from UMP. Actually, i want to choose biotechnology in UMP because i m interest with it. However, after persuaded by friends, teacher and parents,i choose food technology in USM due to food technology and biotechnology are almost the same and USM is research university and more nearer to my home. My parents think that i can back if i want. When i sick, they also can take care about me too. My parents,TT,hahahaha, this sentence touching me and me choose USM.!<br>After studying food technology, i find that it is hard because it got some physic courses and i dun like physics. For the first time it a little bit weird for me to have that nickname but since there are so many of people have named Amira then i will just introduce myself as Zozo. <br><br>Okay. I was born in Johor but live in Semenyih, Selangor.  I am the eldest from four siblings. Since, i was in standard one i always  moved from many places because of my father's work. So, i have many friend but i never have bestfriend. I studied in MRSM Langkawi from form 1 until form 3, then i moved to MRSM Muar in form 4 and form 5. Then i continued my studies in Matriculation in Changlun, Kedah. <br><br>For those who have know me, i am a little bit shy for the first time but after a long time, i will become cheerful person. Everyone  will always laughed when they  with me and i really like to make my friend happy. <br><br>Food Technology for me is hard but it quite interesting to learn. Actually, i don't know about Food Technologist because there is no one in my family came from this field but after i studied one year in food technology, i have know food technology is very important job nowdays to ensure the food is safe for consumer. First of all,my full name is Nurul Aqila Binti Kamal Hisham and i am fondly called as Aqila,only since I have no special 'nickname'&nbsp; in USM. I'm a second year foodtech student. So, i came from Bertam, Penang since I was born and till now I'm still loyal to Penang. And, also I've been breathing in this universe since 21st of March 1996 which makes a total sum of&nbsp; 20 years till this day. I am the third child out of 4 siblings ( currently?). Originated and loyal to Penang also results me in having my education all in Penang. My secondary school is SMK Bertam Indah and I came from matriculation background, which is Kolej Matrikulasi Pulau Pinang ( also in Penang hehe ). As for my characteristic, I'm talkative, adventurous and love to walk a lot. Also,I&nbsp; Im a big fan of Star Wars, team Sith! :P &nbsp;<br><br>I never thought that Im gonna be in foodtech course. Frankly speaking I wanna be a doctor but I didnt pass my matriculation with flying colour so&nbsp; I was really sad and not serious while applying for universities. Since my parents really want me to study in USM&nbsp; ( and find future husband here, haha) as they are USM graduates so they helped me while applying for USM and they said that foodtech has good job scopes for girls. As for another offers, I applied for chemical engineering in UM and UNIMAP, and i got them but thinking of the job scopes for girls, many elders advised me that foodtech suits me more eventhought i dont really know much about this course and i enrolled this course with sad feelings as I want to become an engineer.&nbsp;<br><br>Surprisingly, after 1 year I fell in love with&nbsp; foodtech . I knew it, foodtech really suits for someone who wants to study in various 'fields' as it covers engineering, some health sciences, law (as in food laws, right?) since I wanna be in course that covers Biology, Physics &amp; Chemistry.It gives me knowledge about my daily consumptions.&nbsp; Also, I would like to thank my coursemates for being one of the reasons why I fell in love with foodtech because most of them are so funny, supportive and friendly which makes me enjoy my college life . So, Im proud to say that I didnt regret following the path that my parents set for me :D<br>&nbsp;I also hope that my education wont stop till degree. I hope that I'll be able to grab that PhD in Food Tech soon and become one of the USM Foodtech's amazing professors soon, and still living in Penang too hehe. Also, I'm excited to know that Prof Karim is the Food Ingredients's lecturer cause I've been hearing about how amazing Prof is since sem 1. And now, I also just knew that he is also a&nbsp; friendly, funny and online technology freaks lecturer. Haha.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Introducing the boy synonymous with the word Doraemon or perfection. A typical Virgo who have unreasonable high demands and targets. As my name is not that easy to be pronounced, more and more often people refer to me as Chan. One special thing which I am really proud of is the fact that I am the only child. I guess that throughout my lifetime, I know only few people who are single child and that makes me unique. From Ipoh, Perak, a food heaven and slow moving city which is not too slow till it is being left out by the quickpace society. Also a banana who does not know how to write and read Chinese but always do enough to hide the fact that I do not know how to read as I can speak simple fluent Mandarin. Often people are shocked by this discovery as my beloved alma mater, Anglo Chinese School does not teach Chinese as one of it main subjects even it has the word Chinese in it.&nbsp;<br><br>Stepping my foot into USM has realised one of my childhood dreams. The university which I dream of entering for 7 years has accepted me and believe it or not, it is also the only university which offered me my first choice course. I did not dream of being a super rich person, just one who have a little more than enough to buy things which I like without thinking too much about financial issue. After all, to be able to spend time with people who you care and love, someone who you call FAMILY, matters more than anything. You know why? Cause they are the only one who tells you "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"&nbsp;<br><br>And guess what? I have graduated from USM too. Surprise!!&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

U can simply call me husna (please don't get confused with the other husna because i am much cuttier than her HAHA kidding) i was born on 15th june 1995 and now im 21 years old . I am from penang and stayed at Seberang Jaya . My high school life was well spent at High School Bukit Mertajam and then graduated from Negeri Sembilan matriculation . Best part about me is , i love sports and outdoor activities so much . Before this i dedicated my life into any kind of sports . Due to a small accident that happened on me , i need to stop from any sports that i played before . Now i am enjoyed doing outdoor activity that involved with nature like hiking .  So , if any of you plan to go on hiking or want to be a backpacker please invite me HAHA 😉I am a mysterious girl that love adventure and challenging activity ( also i wish that i could travel alone around the world before my status change HEHE) <br> <br> Now , I am second year student in foodtech course . I am very happy because i got my first choice . But , my happy moment was not long lasting . I need to deal with the subject that i thought i would not met anymore (is all about calculation. until NOW) . But it is okay . I managed to deal with it . Struggled together with my friends . Alhamdulillah I enjoyed it . The most important thing I need to graduate with flying colours so that i can make my parents be proud of me and become a good example to my siblings .  Ohh one more thing also i have been inspired by the lecturers throughout their lectures in this course . I can see their deepest interest in this field . I just wish to become like them (hope thats not just a dream 😉) Aminn . So lets together we strive for excellence .          <description><![CDATA[<div>Assalamualaikum and Hello everyone…. I’m Nurul Asyiqin bt Mohd Shafie and you just can call me Syiqin. I come from Taiping,Perak but actually I live in village area. I’m just have a simple and small family members with three siblings consist of two girls and one boy.  I’m the eldest one. Sometimes I feel quite humble and pressure because I realize that I’m not the smart person but supposedly I should be a good enough role model to my younger siblings. <br><br></div><div>Before study in USM, I was studied in Matriculation of Pahang for two years because I not perform well in SPM. But I'm still grateful to still have a chance so I will try my best to against my weaknesses and pursue successes. Most of important is my parents always support and pray for me in every step I make it. Without them, I’m not somebody to everybody.<br><br></div><div>At first, I choose Food Technology course because I think that I’m good enough in eating only so that why I’m so chubby. But now this course had open my mind about important of food knowledge especially ingredient that we used to be consume in our daily life. At least my healthy and safety will be more assured. Even it isn't easy but I will try to enjoy this challenge with my beloved coursemate and my lovely lecturers. <br><br></div><div>The motivator phrase that I hold until now is “No Pressure, No Diamonds”...So, I will try to work smart and will never give up…<br>Thank you.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello, everyone! I'm Yau Seet Chi. Most of my friends called me “XueQi” or “Yau”. My name always will hard to be called out by people as they don’t know how to pronounce the last two words, hahaha. Currently I’m a third year student. I come from Kahang, Johor. Kahang actually is a small kampong which located in the middle between Kluang and Mersing. However, since many people don't know my homwtown so I always said I'm from Kluang. I had done both my PMR and SPM in SMK Kahang then further study STPM in Kluang High School as my secondary school don't have offer form 6. Hence, I had left my home and stay at outside with my friends during my STPM. This caused me become more getting used to it the life in the university as I had experience before it. Besides, this also caused me become more independent a bit.<br> <br> I think I'm a lucky girl as I get both offer from UPU and USM. USM is my choice as it offer my first choice which is food technology. I choose food technology as my first choice as I thought it is related about the chemistry which is my favourite but when I had study one and half year, I realised that it is not only apply the knowledge of chemistry but also physic, mathematics and biology. Frankly said, I'm not a smart person plus a little bit lazy so normally I need more time to understand what I had learned. Although the study process is hard but through pass two years, I'm happy as I had my parents always by my side to support and console me. They always ask me don’t want give so much of pressure on myself so I feel very appreciate their support. Besides, I had known also many lovely friends here who are very kind to help me when I faced the difficulties and they always will listen to me when I’m sad or unhappy. Even though I’m not clever but I know I had try my best to learn and gain more knowledge about the food in various aspects. What I hope is after graduation then I can find a good job so that can return my parents what they had gave me until today. <br><br>Last year I had taken IMK209 which is taught by Prof Karim. For me, that course is a very interesting course and won’t feel boring and make me sleepy. What we had learn always being talk when those food had apply the theory that we learn in class. So it is quite fun actually, hahaha. Even thought I didnt do very well in exam but i at least i enjoy it last sem. So I will enjoy it also for IMK221. That’s all from me ya^^ </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Assalamualaikum and hi everyone. My name is Norsyafiqah Binti Ahmad and you can call me Fiqah. I'm 20 years old as i was born on 25th August 1996 at 7: 07 am. I came from Kuala Lumpur. I'm the second daughter out of my 3 siblings. I studied in female boarding school at Smk Seri Saujana near Bukit Jalil from form 1 until form 5. It was the best moments in my life. I've got a lot of friends. They were kind, loving and supportive friends that i ever had. Always with their sence of humor. They were like my family and we still keep in touch until now.<br>I persue my study in matriculation college at Gopeng, Perak. Hmm another different world . Before this it is just 15 minutes away from my home , this time i have to travel for 2 hours. Matric is half school and half university. In schools, we have teachers that always guide you and teach you step by step but not in matric. So, i have to work on my effort.I studied so hard to get into best universities. I changed my module from module 2 to module 3 cause i want to avoid from taking physics. I almost want to give up but i remembered what my mother's said. She told me that live is challenging. It has a lot of circumstances. It is like a door, after you past one you have to face another door which is more bigger than before.<br>So here i am taking food technology course in Usm, Penang. So far it's good not so bad.But i still need to struggle especially in a physics course ( mechanic and unit operations in this sem ). I don't know about food technology so much. I'm still searching about it. I think i need to know about food technologist well. Yes indeed the scope is wide. This field offer a lot of job opportunities. I have to find one that interest me. Second year is a tough year cause it is the year of research. There will be a lot of things to study, a lot of things to experience and a lot of informations that i will get. So i hope i can prepare myself before i go to third year and having my LI. I also hope that in my future i can become a good food technologist and help people by producing a good food products.</div>]]></description>

You can call me Eylia but some of my friend called me ‘Datin’ .I’m also do not know why they called me like that but I thought that they pray for me to become the real ‘Datin’ in the future maybe. I’m stay in Perak right now and all of you are feel free to come to my hometown as my mother have restaurant there. I’m sure that you will satisfied with my mother cooking. I was born on 30th September 1996 at 1.36 p.m. I think all of you can guest what is my age now and don’t forget to give me present during my birthday this coming 30th  September (hahahaha  don’t take it serious just kidding only) . I’m 2nd out of 5 siblings which consists of 3 girls and 2 boys. Before continue studied in Degree of food Technology in USM I was studied in Malacca Matriculation College same like Farah Hanim and Farhana. During Matriculation I took Modul 3 that cover Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Science Computer. I’m really really didn’t like Physics but unfortunately I have to take many subject that consists of Physics during my degree in Food Technology. I hope that I will try my best to improve my love to accept Physics in my life. Fact that all of you need to know about me is I will always scared and nervous to enter laboratory class eventhough I have made a preparation before enter lab.  Until now I’m still a person that will easily to laugh for whatever jokes that my friends doing eventhough my other friends said it is not funny at all. So that don’t think that I pretend to laugh at you. I’m really enjoy take food technology division as I think that it will gives me more knowledge about not only how to process food or beverages. Besides, I’m also can gain many facts about food that we take in daily lives and can share it to my beloved family or friends. I think I need to start thinking what I want to be in the future right now. Last but not least hopefully students from division of Food Technology session 2016/2017 can get a good result during examination especially in food ingredients IMK 221. Yeayyyy. Does he know that i'm older than him?But, nevermind..I'm used to it. I'm from Ipoh Perak or 'ipohmali'. Food tech is my first choice. The reason why i'm choosing food tech as my first choice because i'm really into cooking. I love cooking so much. I start learn how to cook when I was in standard 6.But,  I wish I could forget the memory. Huaghh!!! my cooking is so..so.. BAD.Could you imagine how horrible and terrible it was?For now,my cooking ability has improve and i cannot stop cooking and a problem is risen from that. Cooking is not the problem..but, my eating habit is.I could not resist any food. I enjoy cooking and i'm also enjoy eating it and body become bigger and bigger. I wish I could stop eating.No,no, i wish i can control my eating habit. So, I can cook a lot more and try many new recipes.And I als wish i can be a little bit smaller. Me and a bunch of friends had to take an individual roller coaster cart to get down there, exhilarating and yet soothing. The world is huge. I want to see everything.<br><br>Another best moment in my life is definitely when I discovered my passion for baking. Baking just gives me the satisfaction and the sense of purpose none other can give me, besides being in AIESEC. Baking is like magic! A mixture of all things can turn into a gorgeous scrumptious looking cake or croissant by JUST leaving them in the oven is just pure magic! Though it is not much of a magic if you put science into it. The only time my dream is not being treated like nothing and makes sense is when I am in AIESEC, the place I can find like-minded people, the place where everyone is equal. I, too admire these people who do things differently. People who challenge the general social norm, stereotypes and barriers.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Greetings everyone!<br>Introduce you a girl from Selangor and her name is Tai Jia Shin ,  a third year student . She's a happy goes lucky person, yet sometimes people sees her as silly (whatever~)...hahaha. Yeah this is me^^ USM Food Technology is my first choice and i'm very happy to enrolled into this class as well. <br><br>First of all, this is my first time teach by Prof. Karim because last semester i went for student exchange at Thailand. However, the way you teaching and conducting the lessons actually caught my attention. I would say funny ! Haha<br><br>I would like to share my exchange life to Thailand. It is one of the best moment i had experienced in my life. Being into another country, a totally new environment and people, a new language was actually not an easy task for me. If i said i didn't experienced any homesick at all sure lying to you all. However, I'm lucky enough to have my friends and families to support me throughout the journey.<br>Before that , i didn't know any Thai language except 'sawadeeka' . Therefore, the way i communicate with the students there are basically simple English plus some body language and it works ! Although sometimes there are some funny and awkward moments but that is one of the learning process . Bryan who went for  exchange together with me helps me a lot because he could understand and speak Thai very good so he is my 'sifu' in Thai language . That was just the beginning but as time goes on, i started to pick up my Thai language. Now, i would not say that im good in Thai language but im thankful that the Thai words that i had learnt is enough for me to survive over there for one semester!<br><br>Personally i think that life is not about the quantity but the quality. Therefore, the world is so big out there waiting for us to explore. After all , we are never guaranteed old age, so enjoy life’s experiences now! <br><br><br><br><br> </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello everbody~<br>You can called me Zi Hua^^ In fact I did not like my name in english,because it sound like weird&gt;&lt; haha of course in Chinese it would be a special name...also got people gets me nicknames like "stocking" or whatever XD<br>Now I am second year Food Tech student. I just change to food tech in Year 1 Sem 2,so this sem is second sem for me in Food tech. Then where me before? Haha,I am from Env tech,under same TI school. Many people would wonder why I would change course. Actually I prefer nutrition and healthcare courses,what are choose basically like dietician and nutrition.However,I am not get in USM during first trial,hence on second intake I choose Env tech instead of food tech because I think I may enter USM on this last chance.  At the same time,I also get food serve and nutrition from UMT and psychology from UTM.I REALLY have a HARD time choosing a destination for me. Finally,I decided USM and study Env tech to have a try to enter Food tech. I have know a group of crazy friend at there so it is a mixture of complicated mood when I successfully transferred. I love this course so much but I miss my friend there so much too haha. Thats my story entering Food tech.Now I should create a story for my life in Food tech and I hope its a happy ending =))</div>]]></description>
