By the end of the day we considered the many layers of work that happen within us simultaneously we come to know our whiteness for the sake of deconstructing it in ourselves and in the education system--in particular, we thought about what we want to know that has remained invisible to us, and we shared about the emotional work, and also referenced Resmaa Menakem's work on generational emotional trauma in all bodies.

We worked on really sitting with the complexity that was coming up regarding white supremacy, our whiteness, and addressing the white privilege that can come up in us that doesn't want to sit with that, but rather wants a way out.

As white people we recognize the loss of an inclusive community when not everyone is included, for example diverse ideas, inclusive problem solving..the feeling that we are one community. As white accomplices we need to reach out to colleagues to help us processes next steps with grace, mercy and compassion. We need to continue to move social justice work forward. We recognize our white perspective is limited and we need to remember to consider all voices in the space. Sometimes there is not positive intent. Our people of color are often accused of looking for problems that aren’t really there.
