The LGBT Community Center delivers educational, health promotion, and community-building services that meet the needs of the LGBT youth, adults and their allies in the greater Milwaukee area from its primary facility and other sites. Center programs are developed with a consideration of community need, diversity and inclusivity, community development, availability of resources, and the Center’s mission and vision.

Milwaukee’s gays and lesbians were struggling to to get a community center on the map. A local couple, Erwin Uecker and Ross Walker gave the initial spark for the new LGBT Center. The Center struggled in it’s original location. IN 2002, they decided to find a new location. In Mid-2004, the center saw a change in leadership. Executive Director, Neil Albrecht handed over the reins and for the those first 5 years, the center experienced tremendous growth and success.
