The Destructive plate happens the oceanic plate and the continental plate move together and friction is caused when they move and this can cause earthquakes. Magma rises up through the cracks and erupts to the surface. An example of this is when the Nazca plate is forced under the South American plate. Collision zones form when two continental plates collide, neither plate is forced under the other and both are forced up and create fold mountains.
