The man, shell-shocked and depressed after the war, returns in the 1919. In the 1935 the authorities arrived to look at the "natural forest" and it was places under government protection, and charcoal burning was prohibited. The second world war who Elzeard Bouffier ignored there is in the 1939. The narrator saw Elzeard Bouffier for the last time in June 1945 and Bouffier died peacefully in Banon in 1947. I like this story beacuse we understand the ambition and determination that all people should have.

"The man who planted trees" is an allegorical tale by Jean Giono, a French author, published in 1953. The story begins in 1913 when a young man starts an excursion through Provence, France, and into the Apls. The young man meets a shepherd, Elzéard Bouffier, who plants trees. In 1914 the narrator leavs to fight in the First World War for five years and he returns in 1919. Bouffier is no longer a shepherd, because he's sheeps demaged his young trees, and has become a bee keeper instead. Bouffier continues to plant trees and the forest continues to expand every year, there are lots of trees, not only oaks, but even beeches and birches. The vallery receives the official protection in 1935. The Second World War, which Bouffier ignored, begins in 1939. The narrator visits Bouffier one last time in 1945. The story ends with the dead of Bouffier in a hospice in Banon, in 1947. In my opinion this is a very beautiful story which sends a message of hope. It means that just one man can change everything, like Bouffier who was determined to change the reality. Everybody can do something good in the world if he really wants to do it, with the power of determination, love and hope

"The man who planted the trees", published in 1953, is an allegorical tale by Jean Giono, a French author. The story begins in the 1913, when the narrator started an excursion through the Alps and arrived in a desert piace, called Provenza. During his journey, Jean Giono met someone special: a shepherd who led a simple life with his dog and his sheeps. But even if that man was very silent and quite strange, he was doing something great for the planet: he used to plant trees and his name was Elzeard Bouffier. In the 1914 the narrator left as a solder for five years to the First World War. When he returned, in the 1920, the landscape was totally changed: there were woods, an amount of water and life, a little country... In the 1935 the authorities put the forest under state protection. Then, in the 1939, began the Second World War, which Bouffier ignored. The narrator saw Elzeard Bouffier for the last time on June 1945 and Bouffier died peacefully in Banon, in the 1947. To my mind, this is a very meaningful and beautiful story; the goal of this tale is to make us believe that we're essential for the world, in our opportunities. A man can change his and our life, if he really wants to, and this reminds us that big things come from simple little things and that we shouldn't understimate the little nice things we do because beautiful things will always satisfies us, and we don't have absolutely to five

Elzeard Bouffier after the Death of his son ad wife was worried about the needs of trees and he chose to live in solitude with thirty sheep and a dog, he was generous and he wanted to save the world. The moral for me is that we should follow and realize our dreams, also we should have ambition, generosity and determination to have success like the shepherd. I would do the same beacuse i like to help others,i like change the world and i love to live in peace for thinking well, probably beacuse i'm only daughter in my family and i'm used to it.

In my opinion, after the dead of his wife and his son, Bouffier wanted to live alone and peacefully. He also wanted to do something good such as plant trees to turn the desolate vallery into a beautiful landscape. Bouffier distributed happiness in the village, the same happiness that he lost after the dead of the people that he loved, so he stopped caring about himself and he tried to do something good in his 'little world'. Personally, i will never take this decision like Bouffier, because I don't like living alone without anyone, specially when I have a bad moment, I like spending time with people that I love.

The video shows us that the shepherd lost his wife and his child and I think is that the reason he went to live in that deserted place , because after his lost he probably wants to live peacefully and to devote his life to others ,changing and improving that desolate place planting trees. Personally I couldn't make this decision even after a loss, because I couldn't be alone, even when I'm sad I need to stay alone but not for a long time. In my case, I probably would to another place where I don't know anyone. The moral of this story is a message of hope to make us understand that a man can change and improve the world and realise his dreams if he is determined and consistent in his commitment, like Elzeard Bouffier. In fact the narrator at the end of the story says that Elzeard Bouffier, only a man, was be able to do a work worthy of God.
