I think the way the question is worded is flawed. The prompt is to discount climate change entirely. As such, you're directed to considering only the second portion of the question: Many of the viruses causing pandemics in the last 100 years would not have affected humans.

This is patently false as there has always been animal-animal and human-animal interaction. Any time there is interaction between species zoonosis will occur. However, the question didn't talk about frequency of pandemics, just whether they would have affected humans.

Case in point: bubonic plague. Half the population of the entire planet at that time was killed off and it was not exacerbated by climate change, but by humans and rats(?) interacting in the same spaces.

While I think climate change has a direct effect on virus proliferation, I'm not sure it directly relates to pandemics from last 100 years. Most of the pandemics were a result of zoonoses because of human and animal contact but I'm not sure global temperature or any of its effects were a contributing factor.
