In my grandma's house there is rule that if you're under the age of 21 you cannot curse in her house. It seems a bit weird to guests because it's not a written rule and I guess it just doesn't make sense as to why they can't curse if they're under a certain age. There are more unspoken rules like don't run in the hallways and don't go down in the basement if no one is awake or if you're not wearing shoes. The reason no one is aloud in the basement after dark is because my grandpa and uncle are mechanics are keep large and heavy parts down there, same reason as to why people have to wear shoes down there or they'd get oil on their socks/feet. I don't mind these rules but I do understand why it'd seem weird to guests.

I have been a part of a group that treated people horribly, it was a friend group. I feel that they behaved that way simply because they could. Emotion played a pretty big part in this bullying, if they didn't like a particular person because of something irrelevant then they'd go after them. Logic, however, barely played a roll in this. If they wanted to bully someone, they did, they didn't care about the consequence. I'm ashamed of how I acted then but it was because I wanted to fit in. If I could go back and tell younger me to not befriend them, I would without a doubt.

Aunt Alexandra seems to be a bit stuck up. She's also very confident and high powered in society. She's a gossip and likes to give every family a "streak". She feels manners are important and wants Jem and Scout to act gently bred as she said the Finch family should be. Her whole demeaner makes her seem like she thinks she's of a higher class than the others in society.
