Close reading is the actuality of analysing specific parts of a text while going deep into it to really understand the literary sense of it. Close reading is not what it implies figuratively nor is it just reading the text, it implies that fact that there needs to be an analysis and the dissection of a text. Some stuff that confuse me about Close reading is what specifically are we analysing for in the text. Is it for context or theme? What intrigues me about close reading is the fact that there is no wrong or right answer to it. It is basically looking at a text deeply though maybe reading it for quite some time and understanding what the author means or what is happening inside the book.

Close reading is when you carefully read a text to understand it deeply. You pay attention to the author’s word choices, sentence structure, hidden meanings it also means reading more than once , asking questions and looking for more details.

Close reading is not just skimming or reading quickly to get the main idea , it’s not reading quickly and moving on without thinking about what the text really means. Also it is not just to summarise a text without analysing it.

Sometimes it’s just confusing to know what details are important or what the author really means. it can also be hard to figure out hidden words ,informations or why certain words or phrases were chosen.

It’s interesting how much more you can discover in a text when you look closely, close reading actually helps you find deeper meanings and understand the author’s purpose. It’s like solving a mystery with clues from the text.

I believe close reading is actually understanding the context you see when you read a book for the first time you understand if you don’t properly understand it. I feel like when you read the book again for the second time you’re seeing things that you never seen before just like in a movie when you watch a movie twice you’ve seen you never seen things before so close reading is just actually paying attention to the small details.

Close reading is a careful, analysis of a text that focuses on partss like word choice, structure, and imagery to understand how they create meaning. It’s not about summarizing or sharing your personal opinions/ideas but digging deeper into the text itself. What is confusing for me is knowing which details to focus on and how to connect them to the author’s purpose. What makes it intriguing is discovering the hidden layers and deeper meaning behind the words, like solving a literary puzzle.

Close reading is a way to get to the book more deeply. You will have to search meaning of world you don't understand, searching the author decision of why he wrote it like that. You will had to analyze and read severely the book for better understanding. What is not closes reading

is the way to read a book really quick without wanting to know how to analyze

, and repair the facts you need to know more.

Close resign is when you read a section in a book and analyze it in extreme detail. It allows us to go on greater depth and understand what the author is trying to tell us. Sometimes it takes multiple readings to understand the book. Close reading requires meticulous reading and analysis. In short, it’s a method used to comprehend the story and the authors writing.

I would say close reading the when you take time to read and understand the passage you are supposed to be reading even if you read the same chapter 5 times to review it properly. It can really help you to know the ins and outs of the story to have the best response and understanding about it. Close reading you not just quickly reading a passage, not understanding it and just leave it at that. One thing that does confuse me about close reading is that i dont really know what im looking for, it kind of feels like i am just revising the text. What intrigues me about close reading is how much information you could’ve missed if you didn’t really pay attention and read carefully the first or second time.

For me, close reading is when you take the time to analyze the text and when you read in depth. Close reading is not reading quickly to get the main idea of a book, or just summarizing the text. It is looking for facts, and making notes about the book. Because I am not a voracious reader, what confuses me about close reading is trying to figure out what the author wanted to show in the text. What intrigues me about close reading is, how much you can learn from reading the text twice.

I believe that close reading is actually trying to get a better understanding, or a deeper understanding of a book, when you have a real interest in a book, so you read and take notes, take down key words to look for their meaning and to get a better understanding of the word to get an even better understanding of what the text says. What is not close reading would be just taking a book without even understanding the page you just read once you turn the page or just reading words and not understanding anything about the book, because of not being focused while reading. What confuses me about close reading is that I don’t really see why we have to go through the chapter 3 times to be able to get to the 3 phases, why don’t you just read one time get an idea, then the second time you just take notes, and key ideas of the chapter. I don’t think something intrigues me about close reading.

-Timothee.

I personally think that close reading is a way of getting deeper into a text or story or simple book to get a very clear understanding of what is written. This may include lots of things like sticky notes or the use of highlighters and all those to underline maybe parts you may want to remember later or you may have another way of reading it or something like that at just anything that helps you deeply get in what you are reading .
