Students and teachers at Tama Art University are inspired by the Hachioji Library building, according to Hidemi Kondo, the library's director. An art university library, like other university libraries, serves as a vital resource for students and faculty alike. A place of reflection, leisure, and cooperation, the Tama Art University Library is also a place where students may come together and form a community.
Relaxation space has been included into the architecture of the library, which includes an open area where visitors may lounge and even sleep.

One of the two libraries that make up Tama Art University's Hachioji site, designed by architect Toyo Ito, is regarded as an architectural marvel because of its unusual idea and construction. In spite of being part of a private university, the Hachioji and Kaminoge libraries receive a large number of visitors each year, notably the Hachioji Library, which is well-known in the architectural community. According to Claire Shaw's interview with The Guardian, "the previous library received 38,000 visitors in 2006, whereas the new library registered 86,000 visits" in 2012.

-The archive is one of the oldest organisations in Portugal, having been established in one of the castle towers in Lisbon during the reign of Ferdinand I, most likely around 1378. (the date where the first testimony originated). The archive acted as a reference for the King and nobility, containing records supporting the administration of the kingdom and overseas regions, as well as documentation of the State's interactions with other realms.

-Following the events of the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, Manuel da Maia, the High-Guardian of the Archives, was in charge of conserving the contents of the Torre do Tombo. Maia personally led the safe-guarding crew to So Jorge Castle, where the archives were stored, at the age of 75, and salvaged approximately 90,000 items amassed between 1161 and 1696.

-He ordered the building of temporary barracks to hold the archives' contents and promptly requested a new permanent home for the archives from King Joseph I's prime minister, Sebastio José de Carvalho e Melo, which he finally received in the shape of the Convent of So Bento (which now houses the parliament of Portugal).

-The Art Institute of Chicago was created in 1879 as both a museum and a school for the fine arts, during a key period in Chicago history when civic resources were focused to reconstructing the city that had been decimated by the Great Fire of 1871. The Art Institute gained its permanent home in 1893, when it relocated into a structure built on the historic homelands of the Council of Three Fires—the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi peoples. Built in collaboration with the city of Chicago for the World's Columbian Exposition at the junction of Michigan Avenue and Adams Street, the structure, with its entry flanked by the two famed bronze lions, still serves as the museum's "front door" today.

-A study library was erected in 1901, in keeping with the institution's academic roots; eight significant extensions to the gallery and administration space followed, the most recent being the Modern Wing, which opened in 2009. From plaster castings to nearly 300,000 works of art in genres ranging from Chinese bronze to modern design, textiles to installation art, the permanent collection has expanded from plaster castings to over 300,000 works of art. The Art Institute of Chicago School of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago Museum are now widely acknowledged as two of the most important fine arts organisations in the United States.

Collecting and conserving art, design, and other relevant objects, as well as creating an index database for all gathered artefacts, are all important undertakings.

Running the Tama Art University Library, a lot of departments collaborate together to run the library. Most of the departments share and donate their resources, whether in printed or non-printed material, in the library. This is going to help a lot of students with finding their material.

1) The Department of Integrated Design
-FUNCTION

There are no longer any distinctions between visual, product, and interface design at the Department of Integrated Design, which gives students the opportunity to get a comprehensive understanding of design across several disciplines. With the help of this program, they want to develop human capital capable of fostering social harmony via an appreciation for aesthetics.
Department of Integrated Design aims to cultivate the ability to identify and consider all aspects of everyday life's social and industrial activities as well as to think about various possible solutions to each individual issue, as well as to "put ideas into practice in a variety of contexts and environments."

-ACTIVITY

To begin with, students in the department's first-year courses will learn about design's meaning and purpose via lecture-based specialist themes. First- and second-year students learn the fundamentals of the design field via hands-on modelling activities in areas such as rendering, colour, form, material, and composition in order to put their ideas into action through the use of the design discipline.
Students work on "projects" dealing with integrated design of links between objects, people, the environment, and society in the specialized courses of the third and fourth years, and the lecturer in charge conducts lessons in a seminar style. In the process of creating their own tasks, students learn to construct solutions and harmony in areas of concentration derived from societal challenges and daily life, which they then apply to their own work.
Final year students conduct a capstone project to round up their four years of schooling.

2) The Department of Painting, Graphic Arts
-FUNCTION

It is the function of the Graphic Arts Department to cultivate artists with the ability to break new ground in the art and design worlds, both conventional and cutting-edge, via the development of free ideas and new value.
With the inventive and interdisciplinary character of printing as its foundation, the Graphic Arts Department seeks to educate artists who can meet the educational and research objectives of the Faculty of Art & Design by taking a comprehensive view of the substance of things.
Students should be able to expand their creative potential across a wide range of art and design to encompass tradition and the cutting edge in order to develop independent thinking that is not swayed by a blizzard of information, to plan from a free viewpoint, and to realize one's idea effectively with the solid ability to execute.

-ACTIVITY

For activity, the students will learn art from a wide viewpoint in the beginning courses by studying numerous visual art techniques, recognizing their own potential, and obtaining the essential skills required for a four-year degree program in art.
Not to mention, using their specialized or multidisciplinary expertise in the four printing processes taught in the basic first- and second-year courses, students produce prints based on the themes that matter to them, exploring numerous avenues for self-expression. Photography and digital technology are also introduced, as are new printing methods. They are also explored.
Furthermore, specialized courses are offered in the third and fourth years, during which time students can choose one of four printmaking techniques plus photography from a workshop, pursue additional training in their chosen field, and complete a graduation project that represents the culmination of their training thus far. Printmaking has always had a tight association with art books and printing designs, which the students are learning about as they prepare for their future careers in printmaking.

3) The Department of Sculpture
- FUNCTION

Students at the Department of Sculpture at the University of Tokyo learn from history without putting innovation and tradition at odds with one another. While exploring the possibilities of modern expression, this department aims to cultivate future leaders.
Additionally, because of the quick pace of social change, it's critical to have an open mind while studying art in this day and age. So, although it's possible to think of sculpture as something that can be applied to all media, it's also possible to think of sculpture as something that can only exist if they continue to pursue it with an understanding of the function that it has historically played in the visual arts. As a result, the term "global" does not imply a unified set of values throughout the globe, but rather a mutual respect for diverse points of view and an appreciation for the rich variety of art that has its roots in different parts of the world.
Last but not least, The Department of Sculpture at the Faculty of Art and Design strives to cultivate artists who are able to produce sculptural and three-dimensional works of art that are not influenced by current trends. Students learn the fundamentals of sculptural expression via a wide range of methods and theories, as well as the ability to use these abilities in a variety of contexts. With each project, they learn how to apply and think creatively by deciding on a course of action for themselves.

3) Department of Architecture and Environmental Design
- FUNCTION

Interior design, architectural design, and landscape design all play a role in today's increasingly diverse and complex living environments. The Architecture and Environmental Design Department's function is to convey this understanding and foster a broad understanding of the relationships between these areas. They are trying to find people like designers and architects who are able to see things from a variety of angles.
First-class architects and first-class landscape construction management technicians or other comparable credentials may be taken by students in this field once they complete specified job requirements after graduation. For this course, they are looking to develop artists who can meet the educational and research goals set forth by the Faculty of Art and Design, as well as those who can demonstrate an understanding of general architectural and structural design, as well as those who can think creatively, visualize ideas, and communicate those ideas.

-ACTIVITY

Students in the Architecture and Environmental Design Department are taught in accordance with the following regulations so that they may meet their educational objectives.
One of the activities that they do is the first two years are devoted to foundational knowledge, while the third and fourth years are devoted to practical training.Hand-drawing and three-dimensional visual arts activities are part of the first-year introductory seminars, which help students develop their sense of touch.
The first year of study is a time for all students to engage on design projects in the fields of interior, architecture and landscape, acquiring practical design skills and a wide variety of information while discovering their own unique strengths.
Furthermore, students also learn about computer-aided design (CAD) and the fundamentals of a broad variety of thinking styles and expressions, both in real life and in the virtual world.
Additionally, a similar topic is assigned to each of the three courses in second and third year practical assignments, and each assignment is defined by addressing issues from the standpoint of that course's focus.
Last but not least, to wrap up the four-year activities, students work in labs and complete graduation projects in the second semester of their third year. In the fourth year, they study about design in relation to each faculty member's area of expertise.

4) The Department of Painting, Oil Painting
-FUNCTION

The function of the Department of Painting, Oil Painting is to seek and create students who work with real commitment and build on their technical talents and strength of thought in order to meet the educational and research objectives of the Faculty of Art and Design. For the sake of society, students should be able to express themselves creatively without being bound by preexisting ideas, and they should also have a feeling of satisfaction and responsibility for their work.

- ACTIVITY

Some activities are conducted in this department. Introductory courses teach students how to draw, paint, and create visual art in both practical and theoretical terms, laying a foundation for their future studies. After the second year, students are expected to be more self-reliant and choose their own studios where they may work on their own projects and develop their own unique style of painting.
In addition, students are able to develop their capacity to communicate their thoughts to others via language and in a variety of different ways through regular criticism sessions.
Not to forget, students need to complete a "graduation project" in their final year of the four-year program, which culminates in the development of self-awareness as an autonomous artist while still receiving education from a variety of professors with varying points of view. On-campus and off-campus graduation project displays are arranged to showcase the work of students.

5) The Department of Ceramic, Glass, and Metal Works
- FUNCTION

The Department of Ceramic, Glass, and Metal Works function is to cultivate an independent imagination based on the essential interaction between the artist and the material in today's rapidly changing world. They want to develop artists who are able to demonstrate their work to the world on a regular basis. It goes without saying that "craft" is interpreted by the Department of Ceramic, Glass, and Metal Works as an open-ended term. It is the belief of craftspeople that "the passion to create things and the methods that make this possible are inexorably intertwined," that binds them to their craft.

- ACTIVITY

In this department, some activities are conducted. Introductory courses in the first and second years of college teach students how to look at things from many angles and engage with content. Ceramic, glass, and metal tasks are completed by every student in their first year of study. Students learn about each material's unique features during this time, as well as fundamental techniques and theory.
Their path will be self-determined after the second year, when students will choose from among three options for the materials they want to work with. They can use this time to establish their technical foundations while also exploring areas of interest and learning new abilities. Second-year students are expected to produce a wide range of products and complete a wide range of tasks, regardless of the specifics of their study.
While students in the third and fourth years focus on specialized courses, in the third year they focus on developing their thinking abilities and expanding their connection with certain issues. Additionally, they'll improve on their interpersonal communication skills as well as their public speaking talents throughout this period. In the fourth year, students focus on developing a deeper understanding of the topics they're studying, integrating theory and practice, and putting their learning into action in their capstone projects.

6) Department of Scenography Design, Drama, and Dance
- FUNCTION

This department's function is to seek to develop artists who can meet the instructional and research objectives of the Faculty of Art and Design by providing students with a thorough understanding of the performing arts, together with the physical talents required to carry out their ideas.

- ACTIVITY

Interdisciplinary studies of theatre and dance approaches are used in the first and second-year courses to teach students fundamental expressive abilities relating to the body.
Not to mention, some seminars have also been conducted. Drama and dance seminars in the third year are diversified based on student interests, and students choose classes in order to explore their specific areas of interest. Scenography Design Course students collaborate on "practical training" and begin working on their on-stage expressions.
Furthermore, the graduation performance. As a culmination of four years of study, the graduation performance, which includes students from both courses, is staged in the final year of the program as an integral part of this phase.

7) The Department of Painting, Japanese Painting
- FUNCTION

Main function of this Department of Painting, Japanese Painting is to providing an environment in which students may work independently and critically without being restricted by preexisting models. Moreover, they wish to inspire and involve the students in a wide range of expressions, forcefully conceiving their own ideas and thoroughly realizing those ideas.

- ACTIVITY

In the beginning of the course in this department, students will learn how to look at things objectively and scrumptiously observe them. They are going to produce a great deal of sketches and take the right approach to the arduous task of learning that lies ahead of them.
Furthermore, in the first and second year classes, students are going to learn the fundamentals of Japanese painting by working with traditional materials such mineral pigments, whitewash, glue, and washi paper. This course teaches students how to accurately capture and communicate the beauty of plants, animals, landscapes and people, as well as how to compose a finished piece.
Additionally, instructors that specialize in the replication of previous works, picture mounting, metallic leaf application and paint handling and brush handling are also on hand to teach students advanced skills.
Last but not least, The One-On-One Dialogue. Third and fourth-year students are given one-on-one time with their professors, who recognize their originality and encourage them to generate work on their own in the hopes of becoming an independent artist. It is important for students to talk about the importance of painting as well as the challenges they face throughout the process of creating a piece of art.

The Art Institute of Chicago's collection spans more than 5,000 years of human expression across civilizations and includes more than 300,000 pieces of art organised in 11 curatorial departments, ranging from early Japanese prints to Byzantine Empire art to modern American art. It is most renowned for having one of the greatest collections of paintings made in Western civilization in the United States.

1) African Art and Indian Art of the Americas

Two galleries at the south end of the Michigan Avenue building house the Art Institute's African Art and Indian Art of the Americas collections. The African collection has about 400 items from throughout the continent, with an emphasis on pottery, clothing, masks, and jewellery. Native North American art, Mesoamerican art, and Andean art are all represented in the Amerindian collection. Including everything from ceramics to textiles, the collection aims to demonstrate the many aesthetic and thematic concerns of art produced across the Americas.

2) American Art

These paintings are only a few of the masterpieces in the Art Institute's American Art collection: Edward Hopper's Nighthawk and Grant Wood's American Gothic are among them. Colonial silver and contemporary artworks are part of the collection.

3) Ancient and Byzantine

Its ancient art collection includes Greek, Etruscan, Roman and Egyptian artefacts as well as a large and well-preserved collection of ancient coins, which span nearly 4,000 years in time. The collection, which includes works dating from as far back as the third millennium B.C. and going as far as the Byzantine Empire, has roughly 5,000 pieces. Paankhenamun's mummy and casket are also on display in the museum.

4) Architecture and Design Art

More than 140,000 models and drawings, dating from the 1870s to the present, are housed in the Department of Architecture and Design. There are artworks by Frank Lloyd Wright, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier in the collection of landscape architecture and structural engineering.

5) Asian Art

More than 4,500 pieces from China, Korea, Japan, India, Southeast Asia, and the Near and Middle East are part of the Art Institute's Asian collection. The collection includes 35,000 items, including bronzes, pottery, and jades, as well as textiles, screens, woodcuts, and sculptures.

6) European Decorative Arts

More than 25,000 pieces of furniture, pottery, metalwork, glass, enamel, and ivory, dating from 1100 A.D. and up, are part of the Art Institute's European decorative arts collection. Art Rubloff Paperweights and Thorne Miniature Rooms–a collection of miniature interiors depicting architectural and furniture styles from the Middle Ages through the 1930s–are housed in this category, which includes 1,544 artefacts (when the rooms were constructed).

7) Modern and Contemporary Art

A generous donation of over 40 masterworks from collectors Stefan Edlis and Gael Neeson in 2015 greatly expanded the museum's holdings of modern and contemporary art. The contemporary galleries on the third level of the Modern Wing include works by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Constantin Brâncuși, and René Magritte, among others. Works by Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly; Cindy Sherman; Cy Twombly; Jasper Johns; and other major modern and contemporary artists may be seen in the contemporary display on the second level of the museum.

8) Photography

When Georgia O'Keeffe gave a substantial piece of the Alfred Stieglitz collection to the Art Institute of Chicago in 1949, the institution formally established a photographic collection. Ongoing research has helped expand the museum's 20,000-piece collection from its start in 1839 to its current state.

9) Prints and Drawings

In 1887, Elizabeth S. Stickney donated 460 prints and sketches to the museum, which were grouped into a separate section in 1911. Among the 11,500 drawings and 60,000 prints in their collection are works from the 15th century to the present. Works by Albrecht Dürer, Rembrandt van Rijn, Francisco Goya, and James McNeill Whistler make up the bulk of the collection. Due to their sensitivity to light and degradation, works on paper are shown sparingly in order to preserve their integrity.

10) Textiles

More than 13,000 textiles and 66,000 sample swatches, spanning civilizations dating back to 300 B.C., are housed in the Department of Textiles. The collection consists of a wide range of items, from English needlework to Japanese clothes to American quilts.

The study found that, while the National Archives of Portugal attempted to educate their clients about their services, as most marketing theories demand, the advertising tactics utilised were unproductive. Mass marketing is more akin to marketing without a plan. This is due to the fact that mass marketing is founded on the idea that all client wants are the same, which is not true, particularly in the supply of services (information services). As a result, service providers must understand and categorise their target market. If the target market is understood, the promotional strategy may be adapted to the target market segment's uniqueness, with promotional messages and products/services suited to the target market segment's uniqueness.

By offering a wide range of free public seminars and workshops, the university plays an active role in society by encouraging members of the public to take use of its varied resources, including the library. Since its inception, Tama Art University has been actively engaged in the regeneration of the Hachioji campus's natural surroundings, particularly in Tama Hills.

2) The Kaminoge Campus

The university's origin, the Kaminoge campus, is a short distance from Tokyo's economic and cultural hotspots, Shinjuku and Ginza. Museum materials are made available to students so they may learn technical skills, do research, and get creative inspiration. TAU Museum is a research centre that supports joint research efforts and exhibits the findings for the benefit of the general public. TAU's art and design departments aren't the only ones participating in this kind of study.
A large network of curators who formerly worked at the TAU Museum and are still active in the art world has been formed by the museum as well. These links allow for a broad range of experimental initiatives to be supported and encouraged throughout the country. Toyo Ito & Associates, winner of the 2013 Pritzker Architecture Prize, designed the building. Professional architectural periodicals including as DETAIL and Architectural Review have all covered the Hachioji campus library. There are two levels to this steel and concrete structure, as well as a basement. 2,224.59 square metres, and 5,639.46 square metres of total floor space
With colonnades providing modest, archlike structural support, the library makes use of the bottom floor's moderate three-degree slope. Plate steel reinforced with concrete is used to build these arches, which have walls that are 7.8 inches thick with a maximum span of almost 12 metres (39 feet). Both wings are supported by massive bases that resemble fortress-like constructions, suggest vast historical monuments meant to stand forever, and serve as emblems of communal memory preservation and maintenance. The structure has a total size of 11,265 square metres (121,260 square feet) spread across seven storeys, with three floors dedicated to technical rooms, reading rooms, auditoriums, and exposition halls. The upper floor is utilised to secure 140 kilometres (87 miles) of document shelves, which are protected by strong cement walls and small square fences with safes.

To sum up, Tama Art University Library in Tokyo has a great opportunity to succeed in the future. With significant facilities and wonderful building designs, they are the future library. Not to forget, Japan also never misses their idea of improving their education, especially for future generations. With such a great improvement in their education agencies, they will be number 1 in the future.

Information regarding the services that should be included in the archive website is presented, with reference to public opinion. Thus, via personal interviews, the demands of 90 users of this concrete archive, the Arquivo Nacional da Torre do Tombo (National Archives of Portugal), were examined. The conclusion is that most web users want to find basic or practical information, such as contact information, access and consultation; a detailed description of the archival funds; the number of digital documents available online; a good search system (catalogue); and the ability to conduct transactions online.

Finally, we chose to visit the Art Institute of Chicago. we chose to travel to the city to see Vincent Van Gogh’s exhibition which is so hotly debated. So from the beginning my experience was very positive. A lot of people talked about the show. Everyone looked very impressed. The line for admission is so long because of tight security controls that Americans are on high alert. It is good to see because the museum has so many that are valuable and irreplaceable.
