Truman states that the U.S. would provide military and economic assistance to countries affected by communism. This means U.S would rather stop the spread of communism rather than attack the USSR. This marks the beginning of the Cold War, this later on let to other Wars like Vietnam War and Korean War.</p>]]></description>

The goal of the plan is to create and strengthen allies by reviving European economies, leading to rapid growth in industrial production. 16 Western European countries accepted the aid, this increased trade between the U.S. and Europe. This made Boosted U.S. Economy and weakened Soviet Influence in Western Europe. </p>]]></description>

The U.S force led by General Douglas MacArthur came in to stop the invasion while the USSR and China were supporting the North. July 27, 1953 a stop fighting was agreed upon, but no formal peace treaty was ever signed.</p>]]></description>

         <title>The Space Race &amp; Sputnik Launch (1957)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>On October 4, 1957, the Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1, the world’s first artificial satellite, into orbit. The launch shocked the U.S. This made the US feel left behind in space technology and raised fears of Soviet military advancements. This led the US to create NASA so they can catch up with the Soviet Union . Not so long after the Soviets launched Sputnik 2, carrying Laika, the first living creature in space. Then the U.S. successfully launched its first satellite, Explorer 1, on January 31, 1958 to catch up with the Soviet Union. Sputnik’s success increased Cold War tensions, leading the U.S. to develop new military strategies and expand missile programs.</p>]]></description>

         <title>The Cuban Missile Crisis (1962)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Cuban Missile Crisis was a 13-day standoff (October 16–28, 1962) between the US and the USSR over Soviet nuclear missiles placed in Cuba. It is known as the closest the world has ever come to nuclear war. The USSR, under Nikita Khrushchev, secretly deployed nuclear missiles to Cuba, just 90 miles from the U.S. coast, to counter U.S. missiles in Turkey and Italy. The US heard the message from a US spy and started worrying about USSR weapons. In 1962, Kennedy announced a quarantine of Cuba to prevent more Soviet weapons from arriving.Khrushchev and Kennedy sending each other a message to come up with a peaceful resolution. The impacts are Creation of the "Hotline" (1963) a way to communicate from Whashington to Moscow.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Civil Rights Movement aim to end racial discrimination, and inequality in the U.S. The movement was driven by activists and leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. Cold War tensions also played a role, as the U.S. tried to present itself as a leader of freedom and democracy but all that was fake inside the country. Many civil rights leaders were monitored by the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover, who suspected communist influence. This led to the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act protecting equality in the U.S. Modern day movements like BLM continue the fight for racial equality inspiring from the Civil Rights Movement.</p>]]></description>

After this the Soviet Union struggled to keep up with U.S. military and economic strength.
