This will force the students to learn their math problems. I will not allow them to have time to pull out their calculators. They will have to learn tricks or memorize the problems that they are given. Students do not need to use technology as a crutch. I would have the students master the math in their head or on paper before allowing them the short cut of using a calculator. When I was growing up, my teachers did not allow us to use calculators until we got into Junior High and started Algebra.
