I understood that this film was about the first African-American officer who would infiltrate the Klu Klux Klan with the help of a Jewish police officer to break up the group. This is a film paying homage to them (who ??) because it is based on real facts. I like the fact that they use humor from time to time to deal with such a serious subject because the film can therefore be seen by a larger audience which helps to get their message out to more people. In my opinion, the message of the film is that African Americans even during racial segregation fought against racism and for their rights as well as those of all minorities. I found this film really interesting because it has a strong impact. Journalists who did the reviews said the film was amazing.

Green Book by Peter Farrelly

The Green Book movie is based on real facts from 1962 year. It is the story of an Italo-American Franky Vallelonga, nicknamed Tony Lip because he is very talkative, and who is looking for a job after the closing of the nightclub where he worked as a bouncer. Doctor Don Shirley, a well-known and sophisticated black pianist of Jamaican origin, contacts Franky as he is looking for a driver for his tour in the racist southern United States. Franky's problem is that he's rude and racist, but he needs this job and accepts despite having to leave his family. Tony wants to come home for Christmas, fortunately the tour has to end right before. Don Shirley's agents give Tony the "Green Book," which is a book listing the motels for black people. On the road, Franky becomes friend with the pianist and he defends him against racist white men in the South. At the end of the tour, exhausted, Franky can no longer drive, so Don Shirley drives him home for Christmas Eve, and Franky invites him because the pianist would have celebrated Christmas alone.

I really liked this movie because I find it a lesson in life and you shouldn't judge people by their appearance, their skin color or their religion. Green Book won the Oscar for Best Motion Picture in 2019. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it !

The incredible movie, Hidden figures, WAS <del>has been r</del>eleased on 2016. It’s an American biographical drama movie directed by Theodore Melfi. I’m sharing with you my opinion about the movie to make you want to watch it because I really appreciate it! It is perfectly made but the best point is the main topic of the film. It fights against segregation in showing the story of an African-American woman endowed high intellectual capacities working for the NASA. The movie shows the real conditions of being an African-American woman at THAT <del>this</del> time. I really advise you to watch it, it’s a touching movie THAT makeS us realize the difficulties that these people WERE FACED WITH <del>have met. </del>Go discover it!

The film I am promoting is «Selma» directed by Ava DuVernay in 2015 inspired by the events that took place in the city of Selma in Alabama in 1965, concerning the American civil rights movement. This film is about a political march led by Martin Luther King or African-Americans fighting peacefully for the opportunity to vote freely without discrimination. It was therefore a strong moment in his fight to end racial segregation in the United States because this march led President Jonhson to sign the law on the right to vote in 1965. I advise everyone to watch this film which is a testimony of history strong in emotion and reminds us of the importance of this struggle. This film beautifully represents the courage and will of these women and men, in short a film to watch with pleasure in family so as not to forget the true human values

I see the trailer : It tells about the life of Malcolm, a young African-American, who as a young man went to jail and studied history.
He converts to Islam and creates an independent black state in the southern United States. It's an activist but he's the opposite of martin luther king. He resorts to violence. He doesn't want integration with the Cilvil Right Mouvement'<del>s</del> .

I think that Harmonia Rosales has a lot of talent. She is amazing at painting and manages to “copy” famous artworks while making hers unique and personal, using colors and style. Her work is also really important in our society. It denounces the fact that the majority of famous paintings represent white people and it allows black woman, who are the least represented in art, to identify and to feel like they have a place in our world. The artist was motivated to do this because of her daughter who developed self esteem issues when she noticed her skin color. Harmonia wanted to make her daughter understand that she should accept herself like she is by showing to her that she is beautiful. And that is truly honorable and heart warming.

I find that Harmonia Rosales' approach is very original because in addition to replacing the men of the original painting with women to break stereotypes she also decided to paint black women so that her daughter and all people of color can love themselves and that their skin color is not a barrier. People like Harmonia Rosales change consciousness. There should be more paintings featuring women or people of colour rather than white men.

With her art, she defends blacks rights and demonstrates us that a painting can be as beautiful as with white people.
