The Northwest Ordinance was a role model for how territories should become states. The Ordinance gave right to the people and their religious freedom and a trail with jury. It sent boundaries like population from where a territory could become a state. Not only was it fair to the people it was also fair to the native Americans. It made sure that land could only be taken with the natives consent.
Shays Rebellion was the attack on Massachusetts by its farmers. The farmers were tired of taxing sky rocketing (60%) and leaving the farmers in debt. The farmers were put in jail if they could not pay for it which resulted in losing their land. They were tired of their form of government and fought for what they believed would spark a new government. Many other uprising began like that one which led to the Constitution.

The Northwest Ordinance was a way that helped create new states. It provided a method for admitting new states to the Union. This was passed on July 13, 1787, and it was drafted by Thomas Jefferson after the 13 colony representatives tried to figure out how to add new states to the union. No fewer than 3 and no more than 5 states would be created out of the Northwest. Jefferson proposed to end slavery by 1800, but when he wrote about it in the Northwest Ordinance it had ended right away. This helped pave a way for new settlement in the northwest and a way to expand our nation/strengthen our power. It helped show that we can succeed by ourselves without the role of a leader in another country (King George III, British Rule). Without this the settlement of the Northwest Territory could have not happened. It provided a stable and orderly way of settlement for new territories without disrupting the peace of the natives. Shay's Rebellion was an armed uprising in Massachusetts. It was mainly around Springfield during 1786-1787. Shays led many different rebels in a protest against perceived economic and civil rights injustices.Meetings of protests/county conventions in town meetings with activities that mirrored what Samuel Adams had been doing in the 1700's. Shays and farmers didn't agree, they were going for a second rebellion, they tried conventions, petitions, and letters.

The Northwest Ordinance was a way of creating new states and was adapted in 1787. The Ordinance included a bill of rights that ensure religious freedom, trial by jury, and a first attempt at ending slavery in the new state but It didn't really work. It also stated that if the population became greater than 60,000 in a state that a petition for a new statehood could be held. The Ordinance tried very hard for people to be fair to and respect the Native Americans.
Shay's rebellion was a product of the Massachusetts government ordering all people who couldn't pay their debts to be put in jail and their land to be taken away. This was especially hard on the farmers, and they thought that it was unfair and unjust. So the Massachusetts farmers started a rebellion with a man named Daniel Shay at the head of it. The farmers shut down all government institutions that they came across. They were only stopped by the Massachusetts army about a year later. This showed the country that the Articles of Confederation needed to be renewed.

After winning their independence, America had a few hiccups as it attempted to set up it's government. After the war, America was in great debt and was suffering from a severe lack of money with value. Farmers were no longer able to afford their farms and were being thrown into prison. One local farmer of Massachusetts named Daniel Shays convinced his fellow farmers to rebel and ask the government to change their unfair ways. Ultimately, the rebellion lead America to rethink their Articles of Confederation and their collection of taxes.
The Northwest Ordinance was also something passed during this time. It was officially passed during 1787. It declared the rights of the Northwest territory as it was turned into states.

They would be left in poverty and sometimes have to go to debtors jail. They fought for their freedom and rights. The reason they were taking the land was to pay back what they owed from the war. Money was losing its value. Northwest ordinance was past in 1787. It gave the rights back to the farmers and the northwest territory.

Northwest Ordinance was passed on July 13, 1787 and it provided a method for admitting new states to the Union. The Northwest Ordinance was a document that authorized a provisional government for the vast territory north of the Ohio River and east of Mississippi. The Ordinance also included a bill of rights that guaranteed the rights of the people. Shays Rebellion is that Daniel Shays didn't think that it was fair that the states where taxing farmers heavily to pay off debts. Farmers who didn't pay the tax would loose their farms and be sent to jail. Shays convinced other farmers that something had to change during the summer of 1786. So all over Massachusetts conventions were held to determine a list of demands that were going to be delivered to the state.

And the shays Rebellion was an armed uprising in Massachusetts, mostly in and around Springfield during 1786 and 1787. American Revolutionary War veteran Daniel Shays led four thousand rebels in a protest against perceived economic and civil rights injustices, Also The crisis of the 1780s was most intense in the rural and relatively newly settled areas of central and western Massachusetts. Many farmers in this area suffered from high debt as they tried to start new farms. The farmers in western Massachusetts organized their resistance in ways similar to the American Revolutionary struggle. They called special meetings of the people to protest conditions and agree on a coordinated protest.
