Hand as an organ

Many scientists think that the hand is an organ.
General functions: The hand needs to create the human world, to work, create paintings, cities, music.
Continuing Process: The hand is a complex of tendons, muscles, neurovascular bundles, and bones in a small area of the body with relationship with  a large portion of the cerebral cortex.
Failure: When a person has hand dysfunction or failure of hand function, many problems arise, such as social and psychological problems. A person needs the help of a hand surgeon, a hand therapist and a psychiatrist.

My favourite organ is the heart. (Tatiana)

It’s small but you can find a lot of interesting there.

For example the heart has its own electrical system called conduction system. There is a hierarchy in it. The main pacemaker is a sinus node which produces electrical impulses that make heart to contract.

So one of the main functions of the heart is a contraction. The heart pumps blood and delivers it through the vessels to other organs and to itself. It’s important because as we know the blood carries the oxygen.

The most common heart disease is coronary artery disease. The cholesterol is deposited on the walls of the coronary arteries, so the heart gets less blood and oxygen and does its job worse. The dangerous complication is myocardial infarction when cardiomyocytes are died.

Doctors can help patients with coronary artery disease. These patients undergo coronary angioplasty or coronary artery bypass surgery.
