The audience can see that when Beneatha cut her hair because of this comment, Asagai is a big influence on Beneatha. He made Beneatha feel as though her looks weren't good enough for Asagai. Asagai is trying to get Beneatha to be the perfect girl for him. Beneatha decided to cut her hair so that she can fit into his so called perfect fantasy. If Beneatha felt that Asagai was okay with her looks and her perfectly natural hair, she wouldn't of made that life changing decision. In his specific quote, Asagai is saying that he needs to teach Beneatha how to wear her hair in a more stylish way.

Asagai expects Beneatha to leave her family and go live with him in his hometown. This is overpowering because he is practically expecting Beneatha to just leave with him. As said in the quote said by Beneatha to Mama, Asagai just brought up the topic. Asagai didn't ask Mama for Beneatha's hand in marriage. Beneatha let Asagai change the apperance of her hair, he even made her want to change her religion and become african. In line 5 relates to Asagai because he claims he has love for Beneatha and he wants to be with her but he is trying to change everything about her. He is stripping the way Beneatha feels about herself and making her feel naked and bare to the point that she thinks she needs to change herself in order to get that feeling back. Lines 6-7 relate to Asagai as well because likes to pick at people and tell them their weaknesses to shoot them down. Then after he throws you down, he wonders why you get upset and he thinks he is not the cause of the problem.

He wants Beneatha to come live with him in Nigeria also Asagai wants Beneatha to change the style of her hair. He also tries winning her over by buying her this fancy gifts. For example Asagai got Beneatha an Nigerian rope. Overall Asagai is trying to get Beneatha to change some things about herself just to make his life better. The second quote relates to Asagai because he was caught up in not understanding why females do what they do.An example of that could be when Asagai was not quite understanding why females straighten their hair instead of leaving it in their natural curly state. During the process of buying their new house in their harsh neighborhood, they didn't let their snobby neighbors get the best of them and let them get under their skin and cause them to move out of the area. Also everyone is very supportive of one another no matter what.  Mama says, "I am afraid you don’t understand. My son said we was going to move and there ain’t nothing left for me to say." This quotes shows that she is proud of Walter for what he has done.
