In this analogy, NK cells, like border patrol agents, check other cells to see if they have "passports." The passport-holding cells were considered "not dangerous, easy pass." This apology very much seemed like the professor was saying "sorry you're sensitive", not "sorry I made an ignorant, racist statement"
