I do not usually like salsa but this was certainly better than most salsa I have tasted. There were however some things that I feel we could have done better. We did not put enough pepper and salt so the flavor was not entirely to my liking. I also think we did not cut the tomatoes small enough and the chunks were too large. I did like the jalapeno we added and I think it was a good addition. In the future I would keep the the jalapeno and Tomato sauce. I would say that it turned out fairly well for our first time cooking in this class and we were well organized.

In my opinion the oatmeal cookies turned out quite well and they tasted amazing. All the ingredients mixed together perfectly. If I could have remade it I would have put chocolate chips in it as you can never have enough chocolate in cookies. One thing I would have done different is I would have baked it a bit longer as I prefer crunchy cookies over the soft ones that we made. Other then that I would say that these cookies are very good and I will have to make another batch for myself at home when I have the time.

In my own opinion the pizza was great. It was delicious, a party for my taste buds and I wish we would have made a second pizza. At first I was worried that making the pizza think instead of more spread out would impact my liking of it but really it improved it by a great degree. If I were to be involved in making another pizza I would surely try and do recreate the pizza we made on that day.

The combination of Grilled cheese and tomato soup was perfect for this cold, rainy day. It tasted great and from what I could see my classmates also thought the same as me. The only thing I think we did not do great on was that we were a little slow in making everything and some of us ended up just waiting around, doing nothing. This resulted in little time to eat and enjoy our food. Other than this it was fantastic.

The potato cheese chowder was okay but there were some things we could have done better. My main complaint is that the celery was not cooked long enough which really made it not as good as it should have been. Other than this the actual potato chowder was good. I felt that I everyone was kept busy enough throughout the period that there were no times where anyone was just sitting around other than towards the end where we waited for it to finish cooking.

It tasted good, the texture was to my knowledge as well as it could be. The syrup made it a very tasty treat and I enjoyed it. My group had plenty of time to eat it and we worked together well.

We were a little concerned at first that we would not be able to make everything required but we did. The food was great and we set up the table with a red cloth and other things to make it a special occasion. All of us enjoyed the meal and it was in my opinion the best thing we have done in culinary arts.

So I made this on Sunday at home and it did take me a bit of time and I had some pointers from my mom. For the soup I had cut up some baby carrots, I also cut up the small potatoes into quarters. I browned the chicken on the stove, and added the vegetables onto that. The Chicken noodle soup turned out relatively good and I had a good meal and still have some left over for later.

This was a CNN article that talked about how excessive eating of certain overly cooked food has been linked to cancer. The foods that are included in this category are usually starchy foods. These include potatoes, toast, rice, and many others. When cooked at high temperatures these foods can produce a compound called Acrylamide, this compound is what makes these foods golden in color or brown and black if cooked for too long. Acrylamide is what some studies have shown to increase cancer risks in these foods.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/23/health/burnt-toast-cancer-risk-roast-potatoes-acrylamide-bn/

A recently published study has found that chewing food can actually stimulate the release of Th17 cells in the mouth. Th17 cells are an important part of the immune system, Th17 cells are produced through the presence of non-harmful bacteria. The process of Th17 being generated in the mouth has thus far been unknown. Scientists tested this on mice in labs, where they fed the mice soft foods that required little chewing and over the course of 24 months they measured the level of Th17 in the mouth. The researchers found that here was a significant reduction in Th17 production in the mouth which for obvious reasons is bad.

On the flip side the researchers also found that too much chewing can cause an increase in gum disease due to the over production of Th17 so it is important to find a good balance.

http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/315377.php
