1) I am an extrovert who loves to have fun and play but as a teacher I often find myself trying to dampen down that aspect of my personality and be more direct and firm. I want to look for ways to incorporate my personality in an authentic but still effective and professional manner. Based on the sphere of influence video we watched, this may be by being a curious active listener who engages with my students. Additionally, it could be incorporating personal experiences or discussions about real life into my lesson to make these topics more real for students. Both of these would engage my love for conversation and connection as an extrovert.

2. Throughout this session, I was reflecting on my role as a leader. While I think a lot of teachers are strong leaders and problem-solvers, I am more of a natural follower than a leader. I do well when I am given tasks to complete. As a teacher, it is interesting because I have to be a leader and direct tasks, which I think sometimes unnaturally to me. With all that being said, I think I consider myself the heart of a movement. I would prefer to be the type of leader who elevates others' voices and cheers others on rather than being the face of a movement. I am naturally indecisive and I feel like I would not want to be tasked with the decisions and recognition that a "face" of a movement might encounter.

I am able to easily adapt which allows me to connect with more people in my experience. I think life events have made me lean more towards being an introvert in recent years.

2. I consider myself the heart of the movement. I think I tend to stay out of the spotlight which being the face requires, sometimes because of my school I am forced to be the face which is a role I can easily adapt into but it is not a place I would "Stay".

1. I voted in the middle of the spectrum, which allows me to feel comfortable in either sphere of influence. At work, this could mean adapting to different situations by being enough of an extrovert to network or make connections, but also have a side that favors introvert, which could mean also take the time to fully work on a lesson alone to benefit students.

2. I consider myself both a face a heart. If you are doing it for the right reasons, they depend on each other. If you are willing to put your face to it, you should love it/have heart for it and if you are passionate/have heart for something, you should stand by it enough to defend it publicly.

1. I am an extrovert but easily overstimulated, so I prefer to stay to myself or with my "safe" group of peers until it's absolutely necessary. That said, I prioritize individual interpersonal relationships and have an affinity for student connectivity. Specifically, I tend to build relationships with the "bad kids." I have found that their teachers and peers often misunderstand them, and they act out in response to being over/understimulated. Bonding with someone in the school community is valuable to them and helps curb some negative behaviors.

2. I consider myself the heart of a movement. I simply like to do the work needed for community growth. I prefer private recognition or small-scale recognition for my contributions. I don't have an aversion to public spaces. In public spaces, it is enough for me to just show face and be heard. As long as no one takes credit for my contributions, we good.

I problem solve best when I am by myself. Once I have thought through concerns on my own, I feel better able to share my ideas with others and collaborate to fix a problem.

Since I work in education, I feel that the students are the face of the work that we do. With my friends I am an introvert but when I am in front of the classroom I have to be an extrovert in order to get my job done and also create relationships with my students.

I consider myself the heart of the movement. I've realized that in past situations, I am usually more in the background because I don't like all of the attention focused on me. The downside to this is that I don't usually get the credit I deserve because the people who are the "face" of the movement sometimes tends to take all credit. When I am tasked with something, I like to give it my all and produce something that I am proud of.

1.) It doesn't depend on the context; I'm an introvert through and through. As a resource special education teacher, I can address different aspects of the work that fall within my sphere of influence. For example, as an introvert, I can advocate for my students by writing them comprehensive IEPs that speak to their abilities/assets (on paper or with digital ink). Furthermore, I can plan engaging lessons that address each student's IEP goals. I continue my lifelong streak of introversion by reflecting on those lessons, to make adjustments necessary to further the students' learning.

2.) This is an easy one. I'm the future heart of a movement. I wouldn't want the attention that the face receives, every word and action scrutinized by all. As the heart, I can help the movement stay true to its purpose/vision and work towards its mission in my daily interactions with others. While my contributions may be quiet, they are no less meaningful.

1. My extrovert/introvert-ness can be used to build relationships with students and coworkers. I think this allows me to easily talk to students who either may feel academically shy or discouraged for whatever reason, to connect with them and provide space for them to show their scholastic abilities.

2. I would say I'm the heart because of the position I play in my school. I have a good relationship with students and teachers, so I find myself advocating and implementing things behind the scenes. I find sometimes the face "does it for the clout" and my focus is always the chirren.

1. Many people would define me as being very extroverted, but in reality, I am an introvert in my personal life. I'm not too fond of small talk and like being in my world. In contrast, my teacher self is very extroverted. Because of that, my sphere of influence has allowed me to have so many opportunities to serve with multiple organizations in Baltimore. I have consciously chosen to be my authentic self in education. Doing that has allowed me to grow very relationships with families. My being my extrovert and authentic self, many families can understand my human side of me. My sphere of influence has allowed me to help families get the needed resources.
2. I would be the heart of the movement. Sometimes I prefer to be in the background. I like being someone who is on the ground working. I don't necessarily need the recognition, but I do get it, it's excellent, but I don't expect it.

I can say that I am more introverted than extroverted. I had a student that was new to the school at the beginning of the year and he was sooo shy and nervous to come into the classroom. I didn't force him to open up or jump right in because I remember what I felt like being the new student. After a few minutes he told me that he loves to color and draw, so I gave him some paper and colored pencils and allowed him to get comfortable when he felt like it. My introverted ness (if thats a word) allowed me to realize and understand that the class was overwhelming for him and he needed some time to break out of that shell.

I would want to be the heart of the movement, not the face. I enjoy the background of things and getting to know people for who they are. The heart is what carries the movement snd to me, that is most important.
