According to International monetary fund.org inflation “For the economy this means less economic activity…” What that means is that because to the high rise in prices or general high rises the economic activity decreases. Inflation bad economically, but there's something else to inflation that not enough people talk about. As prices rise people who don't earn enough or at all are being targeted. Food which is something that everyone needs is rising up in price which prevents homeless people from buying food. It's not just food, it's daily needs, it's necessities. With every problem one group becomes targeted, and with inflation it's no different. People who don't have as much are surviving, but on the bare minimum. Essentially inflation makes poverty in the United States a lot more complicated or a lot worse. On newsweek.com "the three biggest expenses for Americans — have increased 10.1%, 14.1% and nearly 50%..." Those numbers may not seem too high, but daily essentials going up to those rates is unpleasant. This isn't just a problem for the people in the United States if not for many other countries. All countries have about the same problems with inflation. When prices rise, people struggle.

"Inflation" is the increase in the prices of goods and services in an economy. When the general price level rises, each unit of currency buys fewer goods and services; consequently, inflation corresponds to a reduction in the purchasing power of money. A general increase in prices and a fall in the purchasing value of money.

Sustainable goal connection

I think that the Roman problem of inflation connects with the Sustainable Development Goal of Decent Work and Economic Growth. It is a good match because while inflation was a thing in Rome their economy went down statically or monetarily. According to un.org the goal is about "economic goals..." and it's to "Achieve higher levels of economic productivity..." The Sustainable Goal could have helped Rome by raising the money or changing the currency because the problem in Rome started because of currency. If the currency would've changed faster in Rome inflation there wouldn't have lasted as long as it did. Though it may not seem like it 300 years of inflation is ample, and that's what Rome went through. The economic growth in Rome is seen and read in text books, but in those 300 years of inflation there was no growth economically.
