-This quote shows that she does not want Proctor's wife telling "lies" to the rest of the village about her because they will all judge her for what she's done with Proctor.

This quote shows he is worried of judgment from the outside community and thinks they will judge him of witchcraft in his house after what Betty has done.

This quote shows he knows the outside community judges how he runs his church in town and he becomes worried of what that faction will do or if they will tea him from his church.

This shows the effects of judgement because, he judged betty's outward appearance as being witchcraft when in reality it wasn't. He further supported the fact that there are witches in Salem which is leading to the hanging of many people.

"Putnam: This woman must be hanged! She must be taken and hanged!" (pg. 42).

Putnam judged Tituba and though she should be hanged for performing witchcraft. Due to his threats towards her she saw no other choice except to lie and make it seem like she sees the devil. This jumpstarts the girls beginning to say they can see people with the devil and accusing them of being witches.

This shows the effect of judgment because, she judged Goody Osburn and accused her of being a witch and killing her babies and she might die for it.

Betty is acting like there is something wrong with her because she doesn't want to get accused of witchcraft since they were dancing in the woods, etc.. The town is going to judge Betty and Betty knows this also and she doesn't want to be known for doing witchcraft.

This is a simple quote that shows many things about the effects of judgment have had on her, she of course believed in witches until she was accused of being a witch. If she, an innocent woman were accused of being a witch she would know everything she thought was true was a lie, and there were no witches in Salem. She judged Abigail after being accused, telling Mr Hale to do something about her, but she was not successful, and might hang because of it.

Context: Talking about Abigail

"Why-! The girl is murder! She must be ripped out of the world!" Page 72

The effect of judgment on her has infuriated her towards Abigail, all of this has happened because of her, she wishes her to have never existed. Despite the calm tempered woman she is, she is enraged at Abigail and she may pay for it dearly.

It shows that she is worried about being judged as a witch, and does not want to be whipped no more.
