In many ways I feel that it's not quite time for you to go - we were robbed of a lot of in-person meeting and collaboration time.

I have benefitted greatly from your thought partnership and appreciate your contributions to our math and Lesson Study work in West Contra Costa, and grant collaboration. You have been very generous with your gifts and talent, and for that I am extremely thankful.

On a lighter note....I'd like to take a walk with you down memory lane: pizza, burritos (really big burritos), Vietnamese food, Korean bowls, sushi, noodles and homemade avocado rolls ;) ! We've shared many  meals together this past year as we learned from each other and got  to know each other better.  I will treasure those times as they allowed us to not only become colleagues, but more importantly friends! 

Regardless of how far apart we are, I will always consider you my friend and my colleague. You hold a special place in my heart as one of the kindest people I have ever met! 
See you in Tokyo!!

Nihon kara no omiage mo arigato.  Shingo wa kutsushita o shochu haitemasu. They are his favorite. I am going to miss our drives to the Bart station. It was so wonderful to have someone to talk to after each lesson to help me reflect on what happened, and how things could be improved.  You always helped me see the strengths that were there, especially when I was most critical of myself.Motto nagaku iraretara yokatta!
