Enquiries have begun and a suitable course has been identified. An Intro to Coaching 1.1 is likely to be the entry level for many of our volunteers.

There is a cost for this course which lasts 4.5 hours and can be done either online or as a practical course. A minimum of ten candidates is required.

FV is investigating with both the SSFA and the SFA about support for volunteers who would like to develop this part of their teaching career.

Further information will be sent to school football reps with a small questionnaire to establish if numbers would make this CPD opportunity realistic.

A ‘Touchine Injury First Aid’ course is also being investigated. Further info to follow.

The meeting takes place at St Modan’s HS , Stirling in the School Library.

The agenda for the meeting will be sent to the School Football Representative for distribution to colleagues in their school.

EVERY member school should be represented at this important meeting.

Any items for the agenda or motions to the AGM must be sent to the Secretary 14 days before the meeting.

Minute -

Colin Burke welcomed those in attendance and spoke to his written report ( attached).

He thanked all staff for their help throughout a challenging but successful season. He thanked Les Donaldson, Stewart Taylor and Graeme Watson ( Dunblane HS ) for their considerable administrative support.

He indicated that Dollar Academy had requested association membership and would enter the u13 boys’ league but would need assistance with fixtures as they have no floodlit facilities. Colin congratulated winning schools at both local and national level ( Wallace HS) and complimented all for the manner in which all our finals were played.

He pointed out that FVSFA were responsible for the hire of final venue facility and match referees but nothing else and he urged schools to strictly adhere to local authority protocols on out of school trips including football fixtures. He said each school should apply their spectator control arrangements and these should be followed by visiting schools. Staff members should display appropriate role model examples of good behaviour.

The minute if the 2024 AGM was on the FV padlet and was accepted. S.Taylor reported that business arising from the minute would be included in the agenda but reported that the proposed Ciach Education and First Aid Touchline training courses had not happened. An approach to the SFA for support was made but there was little return support offered from Alan Morgan or Scott Kinross at the SFA.

Les Donaldson suggested that FVSFA might be able to offer financial support to individuals to attend SFA coach Ed courses ( currently £45.00 pp) next season - 1 per school. If financially feasible.

S. Taylor would ask the SSFA if they still offered financial support to individuals for SFA courses.

Secretariat’s Reports

Treasurer’s statement - Les Donaldson spoke to his report and expressed that the financial position was in good order. He reported on expenditure and income and recommended that we make no changes for the coming season but a review could be made at the end of 2025 -26 season. Agreed.

He presented a written Match Secretary’s report and highlighted his suggestions for addressing the problems of unplayed games, withdrawals, fixture arrangements ,points claims and sending in teamlines.

Graeme Watson explained he was working to further develop the FV Padlet to add a column for agreed fixture dates and where schools could use a Google Account to send in a picture of teamlines.

It was agreed that schooos would be asked to play 3 FV fixtures by October holiday weeks and at least two more by Xmas. It was agreed to try for this with all age groups but not the u13 boys who may start a bit later and play two games by October holidays.

The league positions would be decided on points, head to head result between tying teams, number of games played in total and would not involve goal difference. In the event of a drawn league game a three kick penalty shoot out then sudden death should be used . This would only be used in the event of teams tying play off qualifying spot.

The age group trial of u15/ 16 boys combined would continue next year. There was a mixed responce to this from season 24 - 25 but it will continue next year the be further reviewed.

There would again be a cup controller for each FV cup competition. Status Wuo agreed - R. Murray, P. Manuel, Craig Johnstone and Graeme Watson for boys. Vikki Shannly and Greg Halkett for girls.

It was agreed that schools who play each other in a league section game CAN play a double header fixture if the schools are drawn together in the cup ONLY IF agreed by both.

It was agreed that the cup controller would conduct a cup draw after each round. The association would attempt to set the dates for cup finals and league play off finals at the start if the season with schools required to ensure that fixtures will be played to meet the schedule indicated.

The registration of players with the SFA Comet system is still uncertain. The SFA has asked schools to confirm registration of u13 players for season 2024 - 2025 and the new u13 intake for 25 - 26. Les Donaldson will further advise schools.

Election of Office Bearers .

No changes - no additions.

FV Padlet - some minor changes explained by Graeme Watson. Graeme would develop a form to allow a school to claim points for unplayed league games showing the necessary criteria / protocol for such claims.

Development of the Girls’’ Game.

The proposal for a Junior Girls Section ( S1and S2) and a Senior Girls’ section ( S3,4,5,6) was not supported. It will remain u15 and Senior with girls u15 girls allowed to play in senior fixtures where required and deemed appropriate by teaching staff. Orla, Greg and Vikki were clear that they believe it is necessary sometimes to play u15 players in the senior team fixtures. It was agreed that there should be no barriers in place to prevent games being played.

Schools can play seven a side fixtures OR eleven a side by mutual agreement.

Les suggested that headteachers should be asked to be more active in getting clubs to allow players to play in school matches ( domestic, local association and international teams) but it was felt that clubs wouldn’t listen to them either. The parents and the pupils must be won over by providing a product that they feel is valuable and desireable.

Orla and Greg requested that our girls league play off finals and cup finals if seven a dude should be played at a venue that has appropriate pitch fuze and markings ie not Ochilview or Forthbank. St Mungo’s and Larbert were more suitable.

The Senior Girls’ league would be combined - not East / West as numbers would not justify two sections. There would still be a play off finals - tbc.

Numbers hopefully would support an East and West section at u15 girls level.

AOCB

Matt Campbell expressed that there was concern that in fixtures v QV school there were players wearing aluminium studs on the astro and not wearing shin pads. These safety issues would be highlighted on the Padlet. QV had indicated that they would now be playing in the SISFA organisation and had thanked FVSFA for its support in recent years.

Mr Burke closed the meeting st 5.35 pm and once again thanked those in attendance.

GHS’s proposal that FVSFA should consider awarding a Player if the Match Award for FV Cup Finals received interest from one school ( DunblaneHS) but there was a strong majority who felt that while a school might consider such an award it was not something that the association should support or promote.

GHS’s proposal that the FVSFA organisation should meet the costs annually for engraving the twelve trophies awarded for inter school competition was not given any support. It was felt that the member schools indeed receive value for money from their affiliation fee with FVSFA meeting the costs of all cup final expenses - venue hire, referee fees and medals for winners, runners up and match officials. In addition all costs of selecting and running FV representative teams was met from membership affiliation. This includes match costs ( venue, referee, hospitality and travel) as well as SSFA entry and affiliation , insurance, kit ( playing annd equipment and medical first aid.)

As none of the Local Authorities contribute directly at all to costs it was felt that the only way to ensure any Local Authority financial support for FVSFA was to meet these costs from our own affiliation and entry fees and limited SSFA grant aid support.

The feeling of the meeting was that it was not unreasonable for winning schools to meet the cost of trophy engraving.
