Thank you Maiden Newton Hawks and Cattistock Stags

Heartfelt thanks to everyone at Maiden Newton youth football club for another wonderful year of football for the children. The attitude of encouragement and supportive ethos which underpins the club is second to none. The natural warmth and humour of the coaches/volunteers makes sure football is always fun and we appreciate the extra hours put in to develop the hub and make it look so smart. This club and its wider football family one to be proud of.

Thanks also to Cattistock Stags who have been so generous with their facilities, allowing multiple girls teams to train and play on their ground.

Massive Congratulations to Everyone at Kraken Sports FC for winning the Treble in 24/25 season..

Joint Managers Matt Roles and Connor Doe worked tirelessly to reach this achievement.. Special Mention to Marcus Badcock (Chairman) for his fantastic support.

Volunteering is a huge thing in grassroots Football, which should never pass without recognition..

Final mention goes to Kerry Doyle, Anne-Marie Clark and everyone else at DCFA for their help...

There are so many people at Longfleet Football Club that I would like to thank. Everyone is such an important cog in a wheel and if one isn’t spinning it can affect the whole club. From Bev overseeing all the admin, Helen and Kirsty organising Kits and Fundraising. All the people behind the scenes. Sam who has recently set up regular Visual Impairment sessions. Scott who has been with the wildcats since the beginning and has never given up promoting it. All the secretaries, coaches the parents that help run the line. Some volunteers take roles in multiple teams. There so many people that give up their time to help make sure the children can play. It’s hard to find so many wonderful people who are willing to give their free time up to help others. Everyone at Longfleet is a star.

“Dave has dedicated decades to coaching football and giving up all of his free time with no expectation of anything in return, in addition he supports many other coaches in the role! He organises fun events for all and always makes sure that the kids are the most important reason for all of his volunteer work. Dave also supports and works with many other charity’s and over the years have helped raise £££s. Dave is one of a kind and we appreciate all he does for us and the kids! Dave continues to give up his time selflessly through all weathers and locations!”

I believe Ashley James deserves a ‘Thank you’ because he has formed Dorchester Sports and has taken them from the lowest Dorset League to being a successful and well-respected Dorset Premier League side. He continues to devote all his spare time working hard for the club.

“Charlie volunteers as an assistant coach for multiple teams several evenings a week and weekends too. He has an infectious love of the game, which he passes down to the children. He is always there with a joke, smile or words of encouragement when needed. They adore him. Charlie can spot who is having a tricky time on a particular day and then subtly throw some encouragement their way so helps them lift their heads and enjoy their sport. The club is richer for him and his puppy-like enthusiasm”

Fran has been volunteering at Wareham Rangers for over 20 years – and “thank you” doesn’t even seem enough!

Seen as a true superhero by so many at the club, Fran is always there for our players, managers, and volunteers – no matter the time or the reason. She goes out of her way to get to know everyone and their families, making sure everyone feels part of the Wareham Rangers family.

"Bex is passionate, reliable and dedicated to the clubs goals. She is willing to help wherever needed. Her contributions, both big and small are deeply appreciated and make a significant impact to the clubs success. Bex is not only proactive but has a huge impact on the club.

Bex works tirelessly to help the club from applying for funding, setting up the clubs presentation/fundraiser day and much much more. She works full time in a school, is a mum of 2 teenage boys who keep her busy but always find the time to help the club when needed. The club could not run without her endless support. We would love to say a great big ‘thank you’ to show her how appreciated she is."

Tim has been a driving force behind ladies’ and girls’ football in the area — supporting well over a thousand young players!

He also gives his time every week at the Littlemoor Community Top Club Centre, bringing fun football sessions to local kids.
