- The shelter is nearly 50 years old and was built as a dog pound
- People took action and noticed this and within a few months KC Pet Project was made as a non-profit organization
- This happened on January 1, 2012 they started out they had no established programs. But they did have a working, dedicated team full of donors, staff, and volunteers.
-Within a few months they were saving more than 90% of the animals that came in. 
-Kc Pet Project was then known as the 3rd largest open admission as long as a no-kill organization in the U.S.
- They now have 10 different successful adoption centers across the city caring for over 10,000 pets a year.

We've seen how much they love to help animals in need. We admire and like that because we care about animals as well. We are going to try and go help if possible.
