Here’s how you can contribute:

1. Access the Map

Click on the map to open the shared map. You don’t need a special account—just a Google account to get started.

2. View the Map

Once you’ve clicked the link, the map will open in “View Only” mode. You’ll see points we’ve already added, like key locations, paths, or areas for future developments. Feel free to explore and get inspired!

3. To Add Your Own Points of Interest

To add your mark to the map:

• Step 1: Sign into your Google account (if you haven’t already).

• Step 2: At the top left, click on "Open in My Maps". This will take you into edit mode.

• Step 3: Once in edit mode, look for the "Add Marker" tool (a pin icon below the search bar).

• Step 4: Click the pin and then click anywhere on the map where you want to place your point of interest. A new window will pop up where you can:

  • Name your point (e.g., "Best Picnic Spot" or "Future Garden Area").

  • Add a description about why this spot is special or share your idea for improvement.

  • Optionally, add a photo to bring it to life!

4. Share Ideas and Suggestions

We want this map to reflect the future of Stenness too! If you have ideas for projects, or new amenities (like a park or a walking trail), you can place a marker in the general area where you’d like to see it happen. In the description, tell us about your vision!

5. Saving Your Changes

After adding your point of interest, be sure to click Save to ensure your contribution is added to the community map.

6. Spread the Word

The more people add to the map, the richer and more useful it becomes. Feel free to share the link with friends, neighbours, or anyone who loves Stenness as much as you do!

By contributing to this map, you’re helping to create a visual guide of Stenness's local treasures and big ideas. Your input will shape future decisions and projects.
