         <description><![CDATA[<div>3 Steps<br>1. Glycolysis- Splitting of glucose into pyruvic acid and generates 2 ATP. Anaerobic. Happens in the cytoplasm. If oxygen is not present, pyruvic acid is turned into lactic acid or alcohol.<br>2. Citric Acid cycle- Aerobic. Breaks pyruvic acid into H20 and CO2. Happens in the matrix in the mitochondria. Produces 2 ATP.<br>3. Electron transport chain- Happens in the cristae of the mitochondria. produces 32 ATP.</div>]]></description>
