One thing that could make for an EVEN BETTER discussion is we could try to focus on different parts of the book like maybe chapters 4 and 5 and not just recent chapters. If we did this we would be able to talk about Steven's evolution through the book and how he has changed.

Also, we could have continued the questions longer than we did, and we could have gotten more time to do the discussion to get more and better thoughts of the book so far.

Abby:I think that are one thing that the class could get better is that the class could talk a little louder cause at some point it was harder to understand what some students were saying, and the second think is i think we could bring more references from the text up in our conversation.

I think that something our class can do better is to maybe ask more questions and to make the room much less silent instead of their being weird silence after a question. And I definitely think that people shouldn't stay silent in a discussion and just to stand out more rather than just sitting there listening to the others talk. I think that others need to start to take part in the discussions so that they can have the questions answered instead of just thinking "Oh, i'll just let the others speak because my questions are dumb."

Examples that he did was encourage others to talk, he dominated the discussion by answer a lot of questions and asking his own questions. He would just keep the conversation going with his information that he thought.

I also wasn't really thinking about Jeffrey dying, but now I think there could be a possibility.

In my opinion there was one question that really made me think harder about the reading and what exactly might happen in future chapters. One being the first groups discussion about Steven & Annette dating or Steven & Reene. This is one of the most interesting things I listened to because in some ways I think that this may not be the best thing for Steven or his family because sometimes being in a relationship (trust me) causes more stress than suffering something bad at home (again trust me). So Steven dating at this point in the book when Jeffery is still sick just may not be the best thing. But people had different opinions about it. Some people think that it's a good idea, others thought that it's the worst, and I honestly, PERSONALY feel that Steven and a Girlfriend is not the best thing, I don't think so anyway for him. Or his family, and the girlfriend may not know exactly how to help Steven cope with the whole Jeffery having cancer thing that he is going through at this point in the book. At least that is what I think, simply because Steven may not know what to do and he probably does not want to bring other girls in the situation, and I would not want to bring a boy into the situtation, and I don't think that Steven would either because he cares very deeply about his brother and his condition, and getting a girlfriend probably would not matter to him at this point in time, again i don't think that I would. That would make no sence to me anyway. What do you think?

I think that the question about the concert and if it will be a bigger part in the book made me think more critically. The concert has been a big part of the book since the beginning and i think that it will lead to bigger things as the book goes on. Although we have no way of telling besides reading, i think that something will happen at the concert or the concert will cause something to happen in the future of the book.
