The justice system only saw that he killed them but not what they were doing to him.

I don't see how anyone has equal access to protections, for example, the case where the boy killed his mother in front of his friend, and his friend got life for it, he was just a scared kid, and the system screwed him. It's an unequal system that is corrupt.
