In order for them to seem like the toughest on the ranch, the way they show this is when it came to Lennie being the biggest guy on the ranch. Curley felt the need to fight Lennie in order for him to feel like the toughest. We believe that its questionable if there is a certain point were violence is no longer acceptable.
