I have chosen a site called Busuu, I think I can learn vocabulary, tenses structures, improve my oral expression, plus you can get help from native speakers of the language you are learning, meet people and they can ask you for help to correct them in their mother tongue.
At the beginning, you take a test to evaluate your level of knowledge of the language and you start the course based on your results.
Another strategy I chose was to watch people on tiktok who teach vocabulary and the use of vocabulary.

Globalisation

Work/Study.

How does globalization affect Colombia?

Globalization is the process by which different parts of the world interact economically, politically, and culturally and has influence influences almost every facet of modern life.

The aim of this report is to describe how international companies have affected Colombia in relation to the way we work and talk to other people.

More international companies.

With the arrival of large international companies in Colombia, it has been evidenced that more employment has been generated in the country among which at least 700 large companies have been identified that invest especially in industrial and agribusiness sectors with opportunities for development in areas affected by the conflict, helping the development of the area and the movement of money.

People working longer hours.

With the growing need for social improvement and the high cost of the family basket of goods, workers decide to work overtime to be able to cover all the needs they have, such as food, the payment of high rent costs, school fees for their children, etc. For instance, in Colombia the current minimum wage is $1,000,000, but 85% of the population pays a rent of no less than $600,000, so 60% of the salary is spent on this, 20% could be said on food, 20% on children's school fees, 10% on utility costs and the last 10% on transportation. Accordingly, low-income workers are forced to work overtime to cover these needs, as well as to cover the cost of clothes for themselves and their children, on the other hand, they decide to save some money for their future.

The need for English is increasing.

The increase of international companies and jobs with relationships with people from abroad, people have the need to learn a new language to have a better performance in their job when communicating with others. Also, there are more than 2 billion people who speak English around the world.

On the other hand, the British Council did interviews with six English language learners to understand the ways in which their English courses were affecting their lives. They found that English was a liberating force: it enabled students to be competitive in the job market, access university education abroad, and improve their ability to access information and build friendships online.

Conclusion

In conclusion, globalization has had a great influence in different areas of society, from the way we communicate, to the way we work, to the way we live. Globalization has had a positive impact on the economy, but it has also caused local companies not to move too much in the markets.

Suggestions:

An important point to consider is that most companies should pay enough money to workers as a way to help them cover all the needs they have, since most workers are low income, so the cost of living is more difficult for them to try to cover all or at least all their needs. On the other hand, the growth of big companies should take into account all the people who work for them to give a small amount of extra money as a way to help their workers so that at least they do not have to work so many extra hours, and they can spend and share time with their family.
