Globalization and internationalization are increasingly shaping our economy and our society and so also the school curriculum. The openness for internationalization measures has now also hit the schools. This includes the provision of intercultural competence as indispensable qualifications.
Examples are intercultural experiences during the training, acquisition of foreign language skills, international perspectives and feeling and acting as a responsible global resident.
Inernationalization in school also increases occupational mobility for learning and later in the workplace. In particular, cooperation between the countries of the European Union is important and will shape the future needs of schools.
This promotes further development on a personal as well as professional and, of course, foreign language level. An international profile contributes to the image of each school and is important for the economy. For example, many companies around our school have an export quote of 85% ....
One international problem we really had experienced today ist the increasing power of hurricanes which has destroyed the big palms on the island.
I got many ideas from the members of my group what they do in their schools for internationalization.

Today’s lesson was really interesting ‘cause we analyzed the internationalization of the curriculum. We read and talked about the Erasmus + specific objectives, priorities, as they are stated in the Erasmus + Guidelines.

Many ideas are brainstorming in my mind about new Erasmus projects tha can arise naturally from this course in Guadaloupe.

But the oustanding thing is that such meeting happened on the white sand under the trees on the little isle Ilet du Gosier.

Water is gorgeous. On the island there are lots of ducks, chickens and crabs. It is also possible to go for a walk to a small red lighthouse.

“I'm holding up the fire

Lighting up the sky

Like a lighthouse on the ocean,

Bring you home alright” (Z.

A dying coral reef in the Caribbean Sea due to a rise of temperature of the sea leads to the noticeable shrinking of an island because the reef can’t protect it anymore from the waves. That is not a local problem. Greenhouse gases are produced all over the world and a solution can only be global.

Millions of refugees worldwide are not a problem that can be solved by the countries where they arrive. The reasons why these people leave everything behind, risk and very often even lose their lives are all global. They suffer from hunger because the climate change has led to droughts in their countries. Others have no perspectives in their countries because civil and other wars have ruined everything. Crises that have to be seen in an international context.

If we think about it we realise that the major challenges of our world can only be solved globally. America first or any other country first doesn’t lead us anywhere. On the contrary, these worldwide growing nationalistic attitudes will only intensify the problems. We need the awareness that acting locally makes only sense if we think globally.

Today we made another important step towards the internationalisation of our school. We talked about our aims and objectives regarding internationalisation and found out that those are more or less the same ones for each of us. We all want our students to get to know and live their own culture first and then other cultures from students in our schools with the aim to make them respect each other and each culture. We all want our students to improve their language skills and we all want our students to be aware of the fact that global issues play an important role in our eveyday life.
For me as the international coordinator of my school it was very helpful to get some information about the international policy and to see some examples. Afterwards, we had time to work on our international policy, which made me focus on the most important aims regarding the internatinalisation of our school in the years to come.

Today's lesson took place on Ilet Gosier. We continued the topic internationalising the curriculum. We especially focused on international policy in relation to our school. Based on the examples, we completed the introduction why? what ?; aims (EU priorities and objectives); objectives. I think that for our school and local community it is particularly important to develop curiosity about other cultures, showing that they should not be afraid of diversity, other customs, people from other parts of the world. It is not easy to teach our students and their parents tolerance and how to respect different cultures and beliefs. I think the best way is to let them travel and feel. That is why it is so important to involve students in EU projects. It is our duty as Europeans to prepare our students for life in a global society and work.
