In The Outsiders novel could use restorative system as their is a lot of problems obviously going on in this town, and maybe counseling is what the kids need to work together as said in the text "One-on-one "harm circles" are formed between students, parents, and counselors when conflicts arise". In The Outsiders maybe their would never be fights if both the Socs, and Greasers got face-to-face without having a conflict.

This intervention wouldn't help with Pony Boy and the socs because since there rich and spoiled they think they can do anything they want without getting in trouble which wasn't the case in chapter 1

This could've prevented the fight between Ponyboy and the Socs because maybe the Socs have issues going on at home and If they had the restorative justice system, the Socs could talk about it and it could make them feel better to get it all out. A quote from the article to prove my claim is "...said Banks, 17, talking of the student he had been fighting with, Banks said his father is involved in a gang and his mother is jobless." This could be happening with the Socs at home which can cause them to be angry elsewhere, which in this situation is towards Ponyboy.

The school wanted to make a program of, "Let's talk," so instead of the kids getting suspended or having a hard time at school because of things going on at home that they can't talk about, they made this club. I didn't read the first chapter of the "Outsiders," yet because I wasn't her eon Tuesday when we did read it but from the explanations and connections that we have made so far in class is that, when we were talking about how Darry shows his way of love in a different way, these kids are showing or telling their feelings a couple of kids at a time so they can connect to the different problems other kids have in a different way like Darry showing his love to his two brothers that he has to take care of.

As for if the intervention could have helped... well probably not as the Socs wouldn't care and the Greasers would be to angry at the Socs for trying to kill one of there gang members especially considering he was so young.

also LE MEMES
