Hello! I graduated from MCC in 2015 and have worked in various ICU settings for the last eight years. Currently I'm working in the surgical ICU on 8-3600. Outside of work I enjoy playing games or catching up on my tv shows while snuggling with my cat, Gus. Most of the cancer patients I have cared for over the years have been end-stage, approaching end-of-life. It'll be nice to learn more of the history and the progression of treatments for this patient population.

I have 2 dogs, a chocolate lab and a husky/boxer mix. I have taken care of a handful of cancer patients during my time on 6-1600, although they did not stay long before usually being transferred to WCC. I am excited and eager to start this course and learn more about cancer.

Hi, I’m Jocelyn! I graduated nursing school in 2019, and after working on a Medical Surgical floor for a short 8 months, I transferred to the Main OR at Strong. I worked there until transferring to the Sawgrass Surgical Center last May, and I have been incredibly happy working in the ambulatory world over the last year. My passion is most definitely OR Nursing, and I have been so thankful for the opportunities and growth that have been provided to my nursing career while working in my passion. Despite my passion, I also have great respect for all areas of nursing and enjoy learning about them, and I feel that way specifically toward the area of oncology. I am greatly looking forward to this class!
A fun fact about me: I have two boys, aged three and 11 months, and I am now almost a master in all things construction equipment!

Hi everyone! I graduated from FLCC in Canandaigua in 2020. I worked at the Wilmot Cancer Center for about a year and a half on a surgical oncology, colorectal, ENT, urology floor and then transferred to Pluts Cancer Center and have been there ever since! My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 and was treated at Pluta where I work now so it's a very special place for me! Oncology has always been where my heart is and I love the relationships I create with my patients. A fun fact about me is I have an 8 year old daschund who is a rescue, he is a very talkative dog and his favorite past time is tearing apart toys all over my house. I'm looking forward to this semester!

I am a 2010 MCC grad. After graduation I worked in Med-Surg at Strong for 5 years. Then I was ready for a more “normal” schedule so I started searching for jobs in Ambulatory settings. Seven years ago I started working in Nuclear Cardiology and I’m still there today! There is always something new to learn in Cardiology. As long as I’m learning, I’m happy with my work. Some day I will be ready to move on to another part of cardiology or maybe even a new discipline altogether. In order to remain competitive in the nursing profession I decided it was time to complete the RN-BSN program. Cancer seems very scary to me, but also a very interesting topic to learn more about. My inspiration for becoming a nurse was due to my son being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at 8 months old. I knew nothing of the medical field. So I decided to educate myself. He is now 25 years old and is an high school Chemistry teacher. I credit that to my awareness as a nurse and I feel like that gave him a better shot at having a longer life.

Hi everyone! My name is Valentina. I’ve been nurse for 7 years. I graduated from MCC and started at Strong Memorial Hospital on Cardiac Care Unit. I worked at that unit for almost 4 years and then moved to Same Day Surgery - SSC/23 hrs unit. I’m still working there and I love it. I decided to go back to school and finish my BSN. I’m originally from Croatia. I have two kids - son Filip, he is 17 and daughter Mia almost 13. Next year we’ll have two family members in college. My husband and my kids help me a lot through my school. Both of my kids are playing soccer and we travel a lot with them. Right now we are very busy with my son looking for his colleges and going to college soccer ID camps, since he wants to play soccer in college. I’m looking forward to a good semester and finish my BSN successfully. Good luck to everyone :))
