“Man say to his woman: I got me a dream. His woman say: Eat your eggs. Man say: I got to take hold of this here world, baby! And a woman will say: Eat your eggs and go to work. Man say: I got to change my life, I’m choking to death, baby! And his woman say – Your eggs is getting cold!” page 33,34
Walter and his wife Ruth are ignoring each other. Ruth is ignoring him because she is tired of hearing that Walter has a dream. Well his dream is owning a liquor store. But when he says "i got a dream" hes referring to Martin Luther King Jr. He wants to own a liquor store because he wants to be wealthy as he grows up. He does not want to be poor like his mama. His son Travis sleeps in the living room because they don't have enough money for a new house.

Walter to Travis: “Just tell me where you want to go to school and you’ll go. Just tell me, what it is you want to be—and you’ll be it…Whatever you want to be—Yessir! You just name it, son… and I hand you the world!” p. 108
In this quote Walter and his son Travis are having a conversation about school, and were he wants to go, also what he wants to do in his life. Walter wants his son to have a good education. He wants the best for his kid Travis. He doesn't want Travis to be a failure like his mama or him. So what Walter means to his son in the quote"and I hand you the world". He means that Walter will give his son the money to get a good education and be successful in life. That's what Walter means about this whole quote. So the point is Walter want's his son to have a very good education.

I think Walter is a good person he has his ups and downs. But Walter does have a very hard life. He lives in a tour up home with holes in the walls and holes in furniture, he doesn't have nice things in his house to be considered a actual home. Also Walter is very stressed because his wife Ruth might have an abortion. This makes me have sympathy for Walter, I feel very bad horrible for him because hes going through some ruff times hes struggling with money right now, everybody in the house hold is struggling with money because they don't have well paying jobs. This makes me have sympathy for Walter.

How this picture relates to Walter is that the balloon represents money and his Liquor store and the little girl represents Walter and his family. How this relates is, money is very hard to earn for the family. They try to make money because they struggle with money, the balloon represents money and the balloon is flying away which means the money is fading or I should say its not being spent on something they really need. Like Walter getting mad because Ruth wanted an abortion because they couldn't afford another baby so Walter stormed out of the house and went to the bar and spent money on beers and came home drunk. This is how the poem relates to Walter.

In the song "You Cant Always Get What You Want" by the Flint Stones This song relates to Walter. Let me explain how it does relate to Walter. So how this relates to Walter is that he wants the liquor store. He never got his liquor store. So how this relates is that you cant always get what you want. But like I said he got the house. He did not pay for it though. Mama payed for it. How she paid for it was from her insurance money. So he pretty much got what he wanted. This is how the song "You Cant Always Get What You Want" by the Flint Stones relates to Walter.

The theme i picked that represents Walter is Money. Here is a quote that represents money.“Son—I come from five generations of people who was slaves and sharecroppers—but ain’t nobody in my family never let nobody pay ‘em no money that was a way of telling us we wasn’t fit to walk the earth. We ain’t never been that poor. We ain’t never been that--dead inside.”
Walter is having a conversation with Mama. They are talking about, how mama has been alive so long she has saw slavery. They did not pay the slaves money for picking crops, and things like that. Mama is trying to explain the world back then was different from now. They also talk about how black people weren't equal to the whites because, the whites made the blacks pick the crops. Mama is trying to explain how poor she was and her family back in the day.
