Watson said in "an integral setting tells more than where and when" he asks the question can this story occur anywhere or anytime other than when it was assigned.
C. Yes and No. It had to be NYC. It was where the 9/11 attacks were and it is the only place where Oskar could seek his answers. As for time it could fall into a small time range of a few years. It has to be post 9/11 but it can't be years later or it would be impossible.

Mrs.Etsweiler I hope you are reading this because it turns out I am a literary genius. Oratleast the equivalent of Walter Kirn. He compares Oskar to Holden Caulfield, which, if you don't remember, was my comparison for our first third project. He said B."This hyperactive impersonation of Holden Caulfield, who dreamed of
catching suicidal children as he trod the same sidewalks that Oskar does and
tried to shake off a funk that also traced back to a family tragedy, connects
with the photographs of the terrorist victim in a nifty, Rubik's cube sort of
way that gives a chilly intellectual thrill but doesn't penetrate the bosom. This
accords with what appears to be the novel's quite difficult grand ambition: to
take on the most explosive subject available while showing no passion."
C. All the critics seem say that this book covers serious things with no seriousness. Facetious?
