My favorite painting

This painting is one of my favorites for two very special reasons. First, the protagonist of the portrait is my niece, who is only 3 years old, and seeing her captured in this artwork fills me with immense happiness. Secondly, the colors I chose have a deep meaning for me, as they represent the flag of my beloved country, Colombia, where I was born and raised during my first 15 years of life. Every brushstroke and every tone connects me to my roots and the love I feel for my homeland.

My first work using oil

This painting holds a very personal value for me, as it was my first work with oils. Throughout the process, I felt a lot of uncertainty and nervousness, fearing I wouldn't achieve the result I had envisioned. However, in the end, I was completely in love with the outcome. I was inspired by two very different elements: the expression on the face of the painter Salvador Dalí, whose unique style has always fascinated me, and Money Heist, one of my favorite series, which never fails to inspire me with its intensity and creativity.

I made this one using only a palette knife and a lot of acrylic paint. I love how it turned out, especially the texture, which feels really special to the touch. The palette knife allowed me to give it a unique dimension, making each layer of paint stand out in a way I wouldn't have achieved with brushes."

I created this one using acrylics and colored pencils. I love it not only for the technique, but also for the deep meaning it holds. The protagonist is Laika, the first living being sent into space. Her story deeply moves me, as it symbolizes bravery, sacrifice, and the eternal connection between humanity and the cosmos

This was my first portrait created solely with colored pencils. I still remember all the drafts and failed attempts I went through before finally achieving it. It’s one of those works I’m most proud of, as every challenge taught me something new and allowed me to reach a result I truly value

I created this one inspired by the movie Corpse Bride. I love that film and its director, Tim Burton. It was quite a challenge since I only used markers, and as I layered them, the paper started to fall apart. I was really frustrated at first, but in the end, I loved the result

This one, in particular, gave me a lot of headaches because I used epoxy resin to cover it, a material I had never worked with before. It took days to fully dry, which made me really anxious, but in the end, everything turned out great. Additionally, I wrote the names of family members on each character, matching them with the ones who had a similar personality to the character, which gave it an even more personal touch

Each flower represents the three most important women in my life: the sunflower is for my aunt, who took care of me for many years; the roses are for my mom, whom I loved deeply and miss infinitely; and the orchids are for my older sister, who has cared for me like a mother since my mom passed away
