At the center of boredom is lurking happiness 

At the top of tomorrow waits breakfast and eggs

The shape of the past fits inside a cup the size of an elephant

The enemy of green hides between the creaks of the stairs

The swirl of loneliness sounds like the rippling of waves 

her big brown eyes

her big floppy ears

her thick brown fur

there are so many other dogs in the neighborhood 

but she is the best

she makes my day

when I come downstairs

when I come home from school

when we go for walks

she gets overjoyed

I am so grateful to have her

I love her fluffy fur

her pretty brown eyes

her smell

she is the best

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;
