         <description><![CDATA[<p>Focusing on problems or weaknesses that always need to be improved instead of focusing on the aspects of students that lift them up and make them feel confident. ie. always needing to improve the math abilities as opposed to focusing on the math concepts that they understand. Deficit focused thinking doesn't allow for students to rest and feel like they are doing well. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>It unconsciously can put students into a box, where they might limit themselves and their abilities due to such implications being put on them. Which is quite harmful! There are many circumstances of individuals who have gone on to be very sucessful despite being in/living among precarious situations (first examples I think of include the likes of people like Barack Obama &amp; Anthony Davis). </p>]]></description>
