         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Policy:&nbsp;<br>* Students can write assignments in their own native language, and then the class/small group will be able to support the student in translating the assignment into English (e.g. they can help with wording, idioms, etc.)<br>My Interpretation:<br>* Allowing students to aid others in editing/translating their assignments into English contributes to the notion that Language learning is a social / collaborative process.<br>Ruiz's Orientation:&nbsp;<br>* Using language as a resource allows students to build on what they already know, as well as help other students with the knowledge they are in the process of gaining.</div>]]></description>
