I have loved the collaboration I have had with AP Gov teacher Korrin Rue. Her students have been so kind and welcoming to me and we have made a ton of progress in her room.

I don't know what to call this coaching work. Semi-formal? Perhaps? Amy came to me wanting to intentionally review vocabulary throughout second semester to prepare for the AP Human Geo tests. We found so many unique and creative ways to review vocabulary! It felt cycle-ish and while it may not fit the formal coaching mold, this work stands out as the most creative and engaging work I did this year. Spending every Friday in her room also filled my "must see kids" bucket and I felt like a welcomed member of her classroom. This "cycle" made me realize that the constant pressure I was feeling to formalize this work was, for lack of a better word, stupid. This work was valuable. This work helped Amy's students. And whether it fits the mold of not, it was GOOD work.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15DWfacV4BgFOZ_jB_CNGO1Kwp_5hinEx?usp=sharing

After our CLC share out for quarter 4, I asked staff to complete a survey about both the CLC process (pros and improvements for next year) and about the learning coach role. One of my questions was "If you worked with or interacted with Borah's learning coach this year, what were the successes or positive impacts you experienced in doing so?". I put their responses into a word cloud and the most frequently used words couldn't possibly sum up my year any better. Words that stand out to me are clarity, data, perspective, students, and needed. I love that.
