Annoyed. People outside of Sped have NO IDEA about the sped classes. They expect everything to work for all kids but it doesn't.

Staff meeting

After the staff meeting I didn't "feel" great. There was alot "talking" that I have to do that is not "direct instruction".

Very frustrated; and confused on the seeming one size fits all approach to classroom management and work time. I felt isolated and that the work I have been doing is not correct or not what is best for the students. It was disheartening.

Expectations aren't clear or realistic with SPED program agenda

I think people were frustrated that a single mode that might not work for everyone is being forced upon us. Every subject and class is different, what works for one group or subject may not work for another. For example, Having the kids teach themselves history in a small group sped class, is not a good fit for us.

I feel like, individual feedback is necessary to provide meaningful conversation about the engagement model. It is unfair to those who are doing the model but are getting the backlash that they don't deserve.

The slides were explanatory so felt alright leaving the meeting.

It would be challenging to have some students work independently or in small groups unless there is close supervision. Students need time to be trained to build stamina and/or develop productive worktime habit.
