I think the wood table was more than just a table and wood to her. I think she might have thought that the table represented Devon's chest. The reason Devon died was because he got shot i a school shooting. One of the shooters was Josh's cousin. Josh thinks that Caitlin believes it was Josh's fault even though that is not true. Especially considering that Josh is related to the person that killed her brother.
