Austria was very powerful but then started to lose that power. Then Prussia started to become very dominant. In the 19th century Napoleon created a Confederation of the Rhine out of his conquests as the war progressed. During The Napoleonic Wars a German Confederation was formed however it was ineffective at stopping the rivalry between Prussia and Austria. And this caused the unification to grow stronger.

Slaves in Haiti were tired of how they were being treated and wanted freedom. They were treated poorly because they barely got food and water and rarely got proper shelter. Then the African Slaves gave in and joined the decade long Haitian Revolution. The revolution started in 1791 and ended in 1804. This is when the slaves rose up against their French oppressors.

There wasn’t a unification until Napoleon came and invaded Italy. And then when he was defeated by Italy they reverted back to independent states. They were independent states until the Revolutions of 1848 swept across Europe. Milan and Venice revolutionaries rose up against the Austrian Sicilians who fought for independence from Naples. They then fought to be allies with each other.

Otto Von Bismarck was the leader of Germany and a conservative Prussian statesman who dominated German and European affairs from the 1860s to 1890s. He also provoked three decisive wars against Denmark, France, and Austria. Bismarck's response to the liberal revolution that swept through Europe confirmed his image as a reactionary. Otto also came from an educated bourgeois family. And finally he was the prime minister of Prussia.
