we are currently on lesson 16 and wrapping up our unit with our assessments. I will be doing our pausing point activities and then moving onto unit 6 on Thursday.

My students are loving the knowledge topics and doing a fantastic job with using the vocabulary terms being taught. They were really interested in unit 2 about the 5 senses and all the awesome facts they learned about each of their senses.

My students loved that we did fun activities to engage our learning at the end of our knowledge unit. As part of the our 5 senses unit we learned about Helen Keller. We had a student from our school come in an show our class how she types in braille as well as share some of her book so they could feel what it is like to read in braille.

Students are very interested in read alouds from the knowledge units. The insect unit goes nicely with what we are doing in science and math. They have been doing well on formative assessments in which they read a list of words containing the letter combinations that we have been working on.

I make up the wiggle cards from the skills lessons and use them right after the knowledge lesson read aloud. The students need to move around after sitting for so long, and they really look forward to acting out the wiggle cards.

Students really enjoyed comparing the different stories in the Knowledge 3 Unit - Different Lands, Similar Stories. Vocabulary development has gone well! I was impressed that students could remember which country the stories originated in.
