As a result, many people live in hunger and suffered from malnutrition.

Source 1 tells me that " people had little food to eat everyday and they have just a simple diet". source 2 also supports the point as it shows "many people were waiting to get rice and their food just consist of rice, many people were also thin as they had very less food to eat". , with limited food, locals were forced to grow their own food such as cabbage, carrot and sweet potatoes.
Thus, it shows that the teenagers faced hardship as they were not able to attain proper food.

After the Japanese Occupation there was still food shortage. But slowly people get food to feed themselves and sell it for money. As a result, the people had to live in hardship to wait for food and have the money to start a new life or diet again.

Source 3 tells me that " even though the Japanese occupation  has ended, there was still little food for people and they strave sometimes even malnutrition" with the shortage of food, people had to wait and slowly start a new life while they suffer from hunger.

Before the japanese occupation,there was no ill treatment. during the japanese occupation,there was ill treatment.As a result,the teenagers lived in fear.

source 5 tells me that the chinese suffered during sook ching.The chinese had to went for checkup to see their hands.if they were suspected,they would be tortured.When they got stamped at their arm,they had to protect it or not they will get tortured,With that,people live with fear.

Thus it shows that the people had to live fearfully as they would die if not careful.

During the Japanese Occupation, the students suffered a lot for education as they were forced to learn every subject in Japanese. Source (1) tells me that as a result,lives of teenagers were affected badly . The picture in source 1 shows that a teacher teaching a Malay and an Indian trying to learn Japanese.Source 2 supports the point as per research on the internet,there was a picture of a classroom,full of students larning the Japanese language,The students can still study but not n their mother tongue. They had no choice but to study  in Japanese. I feel that the students may not have wanted to study in a Japanese school. Source 3 shows that many of the students did not attend school during the Japanese Occupation as they have wanted to continue their studies when the British returned....but however, there were insufficent schools,teachers and textbooks to meet the demand for education,

thus,this shows that the teenagers have suffered a lot during the Japanese Occupation
