Including rats , bugs , and water that is mostly petrol. Trenched were used to give soilders protection from enemy fire and has time went on trenches became more advance. As time went on they advanced with tanks and other stuff.

No matter where you were in the trench you could get killed so it was very hard to do most of the normal things you would in a daily life. With gas attacks you couldn't see anything for more than five seconds so something could badly happen in those five seconds do they had to be careful.

The trenches were so bad that whenever you waked up there would be rats all over you also there were a lot of bugs from the number of dead bodies, they would just leave the dead bodies in the trenches for weeks. Trenches were used in World War one because it would be safer for them to fight in the trenches rather than fighting in the nomad lands and the trenches would get more useful as the years past.

Life in the trenches was horrible and unsanitary. You would barely get any sleep since you have to be alert at all times. And if someone ended up dying next to you, soldiers had to pay attention to the war so they couldn't take the body to the back, which you would end up getting a disease from the corpse sitting there for days. These trenches were used during WW1 as protection against the enemy's attacks, and to fire attacks at the enemy as well.

Life in the trenches were terrible because there were dead body's every where that leads to a high chance of getting sick and spreading disease. Also the food was horrible (and probably had no seasonings on it which made the food very bland) you couldn't even get a cup of tea because the water wouldn't get hot enough. After all that time there and not knowing if you were going to live or die it caused people to not get enough sleep. and if you were in the trenches there were rats and mouse's everywhere nibbling on peoples feet where there's a ton of mud in your shoe as well.

Life in the trenches was horrible. If your enemies threw a bomb, it would bomb up the whole entire trench, there weren't even solid places to sleep and you would wake up with mice nibbling at your feet which is gross. If you went on the front line you would get shot easily. There was no way to discard bodies and if you did come out of the trench you would most likely get killed so the corpses would stay there for weeks and it would cause diseases and sickness to others that were in the trench.

The downside of living in the trenches was having to live with low quality food, rats, not being able to sleep, and more. overall it was a bad experience and frightening for many people during the war.
