"Yeah," I said, trying not to think about Johnny"(98). He supports Randy's claim that the wars are pointless, and still supports the greasers.

Johnny-The Tragic Hero:  Johnny was in the wrong place at the wrong time when he killed Bob. It just happened that the Socs were there when Johnny went on a walk with Pony. He HAD to kill Bob to save Ponyboy.

Dally- The Scapegoat: It even says [in the story] that Dally was blamed for a crime, done by Two-Bit, and he took the punishment 
even though he was wrongfully persecuted.

Darry-  FOIL: Darry does not have an integral background. He is the one that sends Ponyboy to the Socs, and then them eventually to Windrixville.

Two-Bit- Trickster: He is always a funny person, and will make you laugh. He can be a little, cheeky and can pull tricks.

Bob- The town bully: He goes around jumping greasers, with his gang. "'You know what a greaser is?" Bob asked. 'White trash with long hair.'"(pg 48 on pdf) "Bob shook his head, smiling slowly. "You could use a bath, greaser. And a good working over. And we've got all night to do it.
